Im not talking about the talent..

Its just hilarious how Orlando gave away the best C in the league
Plus more pieces

All they get back are late picks, and average role players

Here's the math for Orlando.
They're looking to basically rebuild while retaining young talent and accumulating picks.

If they did the Nets deal, they would be forced to give Brook Lopez a max deal.
If they did the Bynum deal, they would be forced to give Andrew Bynum a max deal.

In either case, both those guys would threaten to make Orlando a mediocre team without the flexibility to move up, limbo hell for any team.

The only logical trade partner would have been Houston, but I am guessing Houston didn't want to trade for Dwight without assurance he would sign an extension (an assurance he's not giving anyone because he's a b*tch).

Now, Orlando is at least well positioned going into the 2014-15 season with 4 players under contract (Nelson, Afflalo, Davis, Nicholson) and some picks. They will undoubtedly be terrible this season and be in a position to grab a talented player in the lottery, which is historically how Orlando always rebuilds.

This is a ridiculous post.

If that was the Knicks starting lineup you'd be yelling championship at the top of your lungs. Stop being hypocrite.

Not true. I didnt jizz myself when we got old ass Camby and Kidd for those very reasons.

Ibraheim....its a bet. :P

Rob Hennigan is the general manager of the Orlando Magic, and the biggest joke in the NBA. At age 30, he is the youngest GM in the league, a fact taken advantage of by multiple other GMs who convinced Hennigan to trade away his best player while acquiring the NBA equivalent of two boxes of Pringles.[1]

Somebody just changed it lol. But it was like this like 3 minutes ago.

If y'all think the gm had the final call on this move you're dreaming. Definitely an Alex martins and owner blessing. Terrible move.

Magic get

Arron Afflalo
Al Harrington
Nikola Vucevic
Maurice Harkless
3 protected first rounders

Those picks probably wont be lotto picks.

Harrington and Afflao combined make near max money for 3 more years.

For Orlando. This is not a rebuild trade. Its not a continue to compete trade. They settled. Call me crazy but I would have pushed NYK for stat and shump. Or even better. Dumped him on draft night for a TPE and a high lotto pick.

DISCLAIMER:

Im not saying I would be in favor or against a NYK deal. I just would have preferred Amare over Harrington and Afflalo at that price.

I'd rather have that package than Stat/Shumpert. Neither deal is great, but in the deal the Magic took they get 3 young players and 3 picks.

I'd also take that over what the Nuggets got for Carmelo.

You are comparing Camby and Kidd to Dwight Howard and Steve Nash (who was still an All-Star last season)? C'mon son.

Lettuce be cereal...its not Dwight that gives me pause. Its Kobe and Nash being a combined 126 years old. Kobe CLEARLY looked like Larry Holmes, flabby and sick last year. Dude cant take over games anymore, his closing days are over. Nash has a gimpy back too and would get absolutely flamebroiled by Westbrook in a series.. LA has a bunch of question marks, is all Im saying.

Lmao. Were we worried about Nash's "gimpy back" when Knick fans wanted him??

Thank you. The fact that Woj is trumpeting the Nets offer as superior is just... disgusting. That guy has no credibility.

A person would get laughed off this board if they suggested that trade proposal.

Eh... So this is what Orlando gets for Dwight?

Better than sending him to the Nets.

I want CP3 for a can of Pringles & future draft picks now though.

Somehow Kobe's gonna find a way to screw this up.
