I think the championship is won with quality depth with smart veterans surrounding max cats/high gravity players. People like Bellineli, Ilyasova, Brook Lopez, Igoudala, Danny Green etc...All who can play with high IQ and stretch the floor.
This year, more than anything, defense and sharing the ball is responsible for both teams' success. One star can carry them as far as their collective defense allows for it and if he totally trusts the open man, no matter what they've been doing for one half or three quarters. We've seen that clearly with Toronto and also with the Warriors to some extent.
It's an interesting perspective on players like Kyrie, Harden, CJ+Dame, DeRozan, Westbrook, Booker and... uh... LeBron who all chill in the Caribbean atm.
So if you go for "only" two stars, make sure the other 10-13 players squeeze the **** out of the opposition on defense and are valuable off the ball. I'd leave Kyrie for the Nets definitely and make a strong pitch for all sorts two-way players. I'd definitely go and trade DSJ and probably Knox as well.
