If I'm the Denver GM, I call Carmelo's bluff right up to the last second. If there's a sweetheart deal at the deadline, I take it. If not, I take my chances in the summer that Carmelo either re-signs or else fetches me something of value in a sign & trade.

Carmelo is going to get paid millions upon millions of dollars, no matter what happens with the CBA, and if he signs in NY, he'll be making a lot more in endorsement deals than he's currently making in Denver.
I agree... He might lose lets say 15 million on the life of the deal.. the knicks can line up plenty of endorsements to lure him. Look at Amare hes a bigger star than ever.
