If the FO was building something that can compete for a title and maxing your salary would inhibit that then I could see some credible criticism but they are wasting his prime, he won't get those earning years back.
Has he gotten max extensions every time? At what point does it become enough money? When does winning take precedent?
They were in the finals not too long ago. I get that it's a mess over there now but, they were a good team that was contender level recently. If it is so bad, why stay? Why make it impossible to trade you away?
At some point it has to be about more than money right? Hundreds of millions of dollars. No person needs that kind of money. If you wanna win, why not sacrifice some to help build a team or get traded to another one that can afford you?
It really is ridiculous to me how much money is spent on sports. It always was a lot but, we are talking about money that could solve global problems at this point.
