Leon is probably thinking Randle wouldn't have sucked in the playoffs if we had Paul and it could have been us in the finals instead of the Suns

i wouldn't think twice about maxing out CP3 for a last meal. he solves so many problems for the offense. from there you focus on shooters throughout the lineup like phoenix has. the team identity is already hard as hell. we'd be contending for real with this man. lowry is the next tier from there.

I don’t think he makes us a contender that’s why I don’t really want Paul. We still have too many other wholes in the roster IMO

Yeah, if we went after CP3 the FO wouldn't simply stop there. Other moves would be made quickly and other players might be more inclined to join him.

agreed. i think we ARE close. CP3 and another guard/wing kind of get it done for me. i don't mind RJ continuing to develop in one of the wing positions. keep randle. keep mitch (trade later if you must). but if we can sign another good scoring guard/wing with CP3 or make a trade after that signing we should be good.
i like the idea of going in on paul right now because this is the best time for us to strike with the cap space. we can't keep rolling over because of the other players that will need to eat significantly into the cap soon (randle, mitch, returning FAs/rookie scales). we sign paul and then we can retain the others over the cap.

Wtf is wrong with you guys. Chris Paul has a history of injuries and is about to turn 36. And you want to pay him 3 years 100 millions. Just build slowly, build a foundation and add pieces when you can. For example cam reddish is available for a pick. We should be over that ,kid super talented
