What kind of value does he hold though ? Missed the entire season and has back issues + a bad contract. Seems like it would cost the Nets assets to move him unless he is bundled with KD

Would you accommodate the Nets if we can acquire Ben Simmons without giving up much of value?

Probably not due to the back injury. It just feels like a bad investment and being the Knicks, anything that could go wrong would...

Tempted to think this might be somewhat true

Are there enough picks of value to go around in this? These are all players whom the team trading out could get a great haul for. At least Mitchell and the coward

Yep and the other rumor is that if the nets can’t get dmitch they’re targeting Zion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who they also can't get without moving Simmons. Pelicans wouldn't do that anyway, Durant is on the wrong side of 34 and becoming injury prone

It's crazy to me how KD's age and torn achilles injury isn't talked about. I know he's fully recovered but that was a major injury and it's likely father time will catch up to him sooner. There is just no chance KD is the KD of today at age 38.

I wouldn't touch him. First signs of inconvenience he'll ask to be traded again.

Strong agree. For what it's worth, I think his play after returning from the Achilles is basically unprecedented so far. But he's definitely not someone I would target

It obviously also depends on what teams have to give up. But if you are a team that is a legit top 3 team in the league after a KD trade you almost have to do it. Despite his age and everything he will give you another 3 years of elite production, especially considering his style of play.

I do however agree that against Boston he had likely one , if not the worst playoff series of his career so yes, age will definitely catch up to him as well. I would however say that as training science, nutrition, medical science etc. has advanced vastly---34 today is more like 31/32 in 2005. If you have the type of dedication that KD has you can play at a high level till like 37/38.

That is true. Certainly wouldn't make sense from a Knicks perspective

KD's next team should actually lock KD in their gym to stop him from leaving every time it gets hard.

Wonder if this nets situation is going to fck up their ability to lure stars in the future or its just an isolated incident with KD and Kyrie being eccentric.

Either way this is a colossal fck up from their management. Idc how fcked up the situation is you have to keep KD happy. They lost their window to win a chip.

In a few years, I am sure many of these teams are going to find it hard to surround themselves with proper talent unless the salary cap dramatically increases. This is nuts.

Not discounting Garland because he is talented, but it just seems like every 3-4 year player is expected to command a 180M+ contract. Goodness.

With every new supermax that gets signed, the Brunson deal looks better and better. Kind of glad the league has slept on RJ when it comes to accolades
