Heh, game winner against Portland ...... Portland. These aren't the same. Good for BI, he had a much better 2nd half, but he still can't play off Zion.
he's hit other game winners in the past against better teams.
here's a big one against boston. this one he hit came off a pass from zion.
right now ingram is 80-69 with zion. there's really no proof that supports your argument lol
I feel the biggest proof is usually in the contracts. When teams believe that guys can play off other guys, which usually means they can space the floor and defend and play off ball and provide value to a better first option, they scramble to find ways to get them or get good trade value for them. In the past offseason, the Knicks gave up a whole lot for Mikal, and Philly basically gutted their team and maxed out an old Paul George. NOP, tellingly, chose to extend Trey Murphy while leaving Ingram hanging. I'd even argue that the KAT trade was also looking for someone to play off Brunson. I wanna throw OG in there, too.
Anyway, 80/149 = 53% win percentage. That's probably not what NOP wants long-term, and I'd argue that NOP's supporting staff, while not the best because they're missing a center, isn't awful either. The question for them to answer, imo, is whether Zion is really the guy to pick over Ingram. I think Ingram has ability to do damage when he has the ball. There are flaws with Zion, too.
