Both Knick runs came when Kolek came in the game. We gave up the first one and Thibs pulled Kolek during the 2nd run.
Kolek was a +9 and Delon a +8.
Thibs don’t like this rookie. Get your minutes now Kolek and take more shots.
Really not understandable at all. I thought Wright was a complete non-factor until late. Made the game slow, needed a lot of time to even bring the ball up and dump it off. Had one play where he used like half the shot clock to drop it off to Mikal. Guys made some arguments with politics as to why Payne plays more minutes etc. but with Wright being a 32-year old late season signing that really goes completely out of the window. It is reationally not explainable why Wright can get 30+ minutes but Kolek struggles to get to 20 minutes with JB, Payne and Deuce out. I also don't think it can be explained in terms of being an offensive threat---Wright has averaged 6.5 points in 20minutes over his career. Kolek runs the offense so much more smoothly.
This was a good opportunity to play Kolek-Shamet (Wright)-Bridges-OG-Mitch line-up.

Outside of Kolek being a rookie, I think Thibs likes Wright’s size, defense and experience. Kolek is fighting an uphill battle, at least this year.
I get it, the post season game is slowed down and physical but Wright is NOT a PG and we all see that.
Thibs will work around that but not having a true distributor on the floor??? Ouch.
I look forward to Kolek being the regular backup next year and getting more involved in the offense.
Too bad Thibs is so resistant to change and adjustments. Kolek really gets guys set up in good positions with his BRILLIANT passing.
At this point Thibs is more concerned with the post season rotation, which is ironic as he should really be cutting down minutes of almost everyone so we don’t break down again come post season.

Well Josh Hart, Bridges and OG are 1st, 3rd and 5th in minutes played leaguewide (Crazy I know) so that ship has sailed already. Luckily though OG was hurt for 4 weeks so he has had a break already. Nowadays as a fan you have to hope for guys getting injured so they get a rest because the coach isn't doing it. God forbid a rookie could get playing time.

Good news is those guys aren’t really looking run down and ragged and they’re playing some of their best ball of the season. Now there are 8 games left and we are 4 games up on Indiana who thank goodness lost last night. So if we can manage to lock this thing in early maybe we can give these guys a couple games off down the stretch. A good start will be beating the 76ers
