I can't tell if he's selling high or if he just goes on these whims then loses interest.
Btw Beats by Dre is a great example of innovative and brilliant plays from a musician. Dre knows how to automate his money...dude doesn't even have to produce beats that he's credited for any more.
i think with most of Jay's prior ventures, he left to go on to something even bigger.
I do agree he's jumped ships prematurely except for the whole Roc-A-Fella situation.
Dame Dash was single handedly bringing the Roc to its decline right around the time Jay-Z was making the Blueprint 2. He was putting the wrong people up at leadership positions, spending crazy amounts of money, picking the wrong fights with business execs, etc.
He is the sole reason that he's been blackballed from the music industry as a whole. Jay-Z was a smart mofo... not only did he get rid of his two business partners... but he essentially kept everything once he became Def Jam prez.
What's Dash up to now? From what I remember, he was foreclosing some condos and is pretty much broke.
Biggs? I heard he's in jail now on some drug trafficking charge.
The rest of the Roc that hated on Jay-Z? Doing nothing.
Yeah, the Dame and Jay break up was a wise decision by Jay...though I think he could have kept Dash from having the bottom drop out. His mad dash from Def Jam and bragging about it has always bothered me though "I don't get dropped...I drop the label" ...He wasn't doing a great job there and then started his own thing which feels like a heist to me.
