That's why there is a problem. How is this hard to understand? Black folks are not feeling as to why he's not signed. We all know it's not football reasons. Mofo's will beat a female damn near to death, kill(hi Ray), steal or rob and still keep a job in the NFL. Let a dude stand up for civil rights and he's shunned.
It's a modern day n*** rule. He's being told to fall in line.
this is where we are as a society right now when it comes to the NFL: we are ok with druggies playing in it, criminals playing in it, women beaters playing in it, no problem. But a player using his 1st amendment right in a peaceful way: people stop watching and the NFL blackballs him
I don't think a player should lose his right to earn an income because of something that happened off the court.
Now while I do know Kap has a right to exercise his rights, and I do applaud him for doing so, there are risks to it when done at your place of work. Fair or unfair, the risks were known and there.
The risks are dealing with narrow-minded team owners who don't believe in free speech or non-speech. I mean the guy is just taking a knee in silent protest. He's not being disrespectful in the sense of being actively disruptive by, for example, burning a flag or chanting something offensive during the playing of the anthem.
How about this? I don't even see the need to play the darn song before every freaking game. What does that song have to do with pro sports anyhow? Just another stupid tradition being forced upon us paying customers. I heard that in Yankee Stadium if you don't stand for the 7th inning playing of "God Bless America," they will escort you out of the stadium. Yeah, God bless America for all this freedom not to do what I want to do. Thanks. And it's Kate Smith's version of the song. Ew. At least play Ray Charles's "America The Beautiful." I'd stand for Ray. But I'm an atheist and a pacifist (unless somebody gets in my grill or is bullying someone), why should I have to stand for all this talk about a so-called god and bombs bursting in air? You wanna know about "God," well, just before that female Florida real estate agent got murdered by her ex-husband right before Irma landed in Florida, she was on Facebook talking about how this has been the best time in her life and that "God has been so good." Next day, dead. God has a very dark sense of humor.http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/arrested-death-texas-realtor-missing-harvey-article-1.3483688
It's all a bunch of BS. I think the real reason why the owners are resistant to signing him is that of pressure from local police unions who are saying that if the team signs him, that they're going to strike or not do their jobs. I believe that's what happened in SF.https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/police-union-threatens-to-pull-cops-from-49ers-games-over-kaepernick-protest/
