It now becomes a trade asset rather than a g-league candidate on the roster. It's fine. I would have liked to pick a few of the guards at that spot, but apparently we're looking toward FA for that.
Yeah, I have a hard time giving criticism for things I have absolutely done myself in BAF
Edit: granted we have a hard cap...

I was about to say.....
But yea, in a weak draft, we'll get more value punting the pick to a later year. We don't need more kids.

I couldn't identify a Mitch type player this year. Somebody who fell due to red flags or was otherwise overlooked such as an international prospect. Admittedly, I didn't look very hard. I felt better about "pro" prospects in our league this year (THT, Eubanks, Melton) and focused on them.

That draft is most likey to be the double draft where highschool kids are allowed to enter the nba.Worst_to_First wrote:I was amazed that our FO was able to turn 27 and 38 to 25 and 33 using nothing. Then messed it up by giving up 33 with a second round pick 3 years from now.

That answer to the equation told them that even a #40 pick in 2023 is more valuable than what they saw in 2020 at #33.
You can agree or not with the conclusion, but that's my guess as to what happened here.
