Isnt giving him all the PG minutes despite struggling manifestation of baby sitting you want to avoid ? During media day all our players and coach was saying was holding each other accountable. Are we about that or about being self entitled bunch of high lottery picks ? I am not advising about benching Suggs right now, its been only 2 pre season games and i like him as a person and i like his potential as a player, but we need to have some boundaries.
Suggs isnt the only player on our roster to develop, he is not even our highest ceiling player, he could even not be our highest ceiling combo guard in the end. Wagner and Carter want to win, they could get frustrated quickly if we start to force minutes to bad players.
If we're playing a struggling Suggs a ton of minutes at PG next year then yes. But for this year, we need to figure out if he's worth keeping now. If he can't string 3-5 good to great games in a row consistently, we'll have our answer this season. I'm tired of doing what we did to guys like Bamba. Throw them out there. If they suck, move on quickly.
The forced role that we gave Franz in December was amazing and it only happened due to injuries... and then his role got reduced again![]()
Stop babying these guys. They're either NBA players or they're not. Find out quick and make decisions fast.
Its not how nba development works, at least not on good development programs. Nothing wrong in slower development in more limited role. You cant treat every player the same way.
