You don't have to insult me just because my posts disagree with you.
Williams is a proven pg unlike what we have been seeing here at Magicland and so is Duhon.
I did some checking, what do you have against Duhon his time on the injury list has been min. Chris Duhon does not have any outstanding issues when it comes to injuries.
Dooling is from that area and the last time that Dooling was a free agent he wanted more money and more time and the Magic offered him the best deal.
Apparently the Heat are putting out feelers towards Doolings way to see what he would think about reupping with the Heat.
Plus his family are hoping that he will rejoin the Heat since they are all in the Ft. Lauderdale, Miami area.
One other thing most of the NBA teams have two pg's with one player who can both the guard positions like Dooling. Remember Dooling is not a true pg.
So if you disagree with me again instead of insulting me why don't you post something that is objective.
To me it sounds that you are not a fan of the Magic that you would like the team to implode so that you can get rid of certain players and Otis Smith.
See I can be insulting as well.
It's insulting now to think that someone is a Heat fan? Or a friend of Jason Williams?

Yes, Williams is a proven point guard who baffled a lot of his coaches and now has a lot of issues with knee injuries. He had that huge game against Orlando, which was his best game of the season, and followed it up with a 3-for-11 and 5-turnover performance against Dallas, a 5-for-15 (with 10 assists) performance against the Milwaukee Bucks and a DNP against the Raptors.
Duhon has been a proven backup in this league, but there probably are a lot of those. I think he is a good defender. But I worry because he already has had surgery to remove a herniated disk in his lower back. It was successful, but backs have a way of flaring up over and over. He hasn't missed all that many games, but he plays hurt a lot. It's very admirable, but you never know when he might not be able to.

And this explains why the Magic should try to replace Dooling with one of those other guys? Didn't you just say they need someone who can play both positions like he does? If the Heat have been contacting Dooling and/or his people or vice versa, isn't that a violation of the tampering rules and the Heat would need to be penalized? And if the Heat are interested in Dooling, doesn't that mean he might be pretty good and that they realize now how much they miss him? Doesn't that mean that the Magic maybe should try to re-sign him? Won't he be able to give the Heat a lot of information about the Magic if he goes back there, therefore putting the Magic at a disadvantage?
I'm not saying that you don't look at all options in case you can't re-sign him, but you're not even going to try? The Magic have his Bird rights. They could pay him more than the Heat if it came down to that, and unless the Heat make some roster moves, they only are going to have the MLE to obtain players.

If you believe that, that would be a first. Most people try to insult me by calling me a homer. I have spent hours and hundreds of pages defending Otis and his moves. Dooling is pretty popular with a lot of Magic fans. You don't think it might hurt for the Magic to lose Dooling to the Heat? I mean, a lot of people might recognize that Dooling is from Fort Lauderdale and good friends with Dwyane Wade and might want to return home. I have been writing about that for a couple years now. But a lot of people like Dooling and would not be happy if he does not return. Some people have posted that on this very thread.
I was not trying to insult you by calling you a Heat fan, but honestly, I don't see J. Will helping the Magic a lot. In his earlier days, yes, but he can't even play consistently anymore because of his injuries, and to imply that we should get him and not need a third point guard, too, well....that just doesn't make any sense. And if you are talking about replacing Dooling with him AND Duhon, then the Magic are going to have to spend more than their MLE signing two guys to replace Dooling when they could use Bird rights on Dooling and the MLE to address their other needs, like a power forward that doesn't mind mixing it up.
