He is just a serviceable big like what we had in Birch. Frankly, this is just like an audition contract for him if he wants to earn more/longer for other teams like what Birch did with TOR
Birch actually played competent rotation minutes for a team with a winning record that made the playoffs the year the Magic resigned him. He at least had a leg to stand on when asking for a few million guaranteed.
Wagner's playing out the string for a clearly tanking team and isn't even playing all that well.
The only benefit to retaining him is that he's not a complete useless scrub and you could keep him for the minimum. Otherwise what's the point?
