I was curious where he's at today.
Seems he's not doing much of anything noteworthy basketball related.
Last mention was him as a Scout for the Knicks back in 2008.

He's an assistant to the GM for the Orlando Magic. I believe he has Parkinson's disease.

We can't get a good read about our rebuild with Isaac and Fultz being hurt. But at this point, I'd rather have them rest up and the Magic continue to lose games. We still lack a bonafide star.

I don't see any superstar in this teams future out of the players we have. Also, I dont think Slim nor Fultz will make this team that much better as neither are all-star level talents. Thus, probably another 10 years of rebuilding.

I don’t necessarily see superstars on this squad right now either. Superstars by default definition anyway, extraordinary scoring ability along with the ability to makes plays for his teammates. There’s no Lebron or KD or Curry on the team. I do think there are guys who could work themselves into good all star type guys, Guys on the level of Vucevic or CJ McCollum types who aren’t the top tier but maybe one or two down that are capable of making an AllStar team a time or two. I see a few possibilities there with Cole, Suggs, Franz, Fultz and Issac.

On Issac and Fultz, I think they are the most talented guys on the squad. Obviously injuries are a big issue with those guys and it’s a real possibility they never reach their potentials as a result, but they have elite play making and defensive skill sets, and they’re the only guys we have that do.

Don’t get me wrong I do see some long termers in guys like Carter Jr. I’m also on the pro vets side of the argument. Young teams needs a few guys who’s already taken a successful NBA journey. The Magic really do need a leader to take the reigns of this rebuild if it’s going to be successful.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

I would say Cole and Franz are potential all-stars at the moment. Suggs depending on his development. Slim, doubt he is ever more than a starting level player and Fultz most likely Cole's backup regardless how much smoke people blow in his direction. Fultz is good, but after 4 years, I don't see him doing anything better than maybe starting level.

Build a deep team with young talented players, that can all grow and stay together. I bet they would all be happy to take minimum contracts.
I mean, what a waste. We signed players who haven’t even been able to play a single game yet.
They all have to get healthy and then get back in game shape. And they still get paid! That sounds like a job I want.
I’m just rambling here, what are your thoughts?

Completely agree, that superstar is key.
