He'll probably get an MLE from a contender hoping he can still shoot and defend at an average level, which I guess last year qualifies as.
Definitely not worth blocking our young guys from minutes.
Harris was very good last season once he got in game shape. He struggled mightily in the first month or so, but after that he was our best guard by some margin for most of last season. From December 1st on he shot 41.3% from 3 on a decent volume, his TS% was 59.9, he played solid defense and he had the best net rating and on/off on the team. And he's still only 27. I'd definitely try to keep him if his salary demands are reasonable.
Harris ranked 9th on the team in Defensive win share, ahead of Ross. 12th in Defensive box +/-, that is not minute dependant, so there are a couple oddballs ahead of him
The On/off i am looking had him 4th
His net rating was -5.9, good for 7th on the team, a couple temp guys ahead of him so call it 5th.
Look at his DBP he's never had a remarkable season. He's an adequate defender at best. He's living off the reputation of two good offensive seasons where he had FG% of 48% and 50%. He was at 43% last year
He's not a bad defender, but he's not a plus one either. If you are shooting it ok like he did last year 38% that probably is good enough for a rotation spot somewhere.
