What do the Nets have left to trade for Demarcus Cousins? That team has been gutted, and there is no way they trade what could be the potential number one pick.

I just went over and manually checked the numbers and Hollinger's tweet was off. They average 39.2PPG. Deron isn't playing tonight either, so they're gonna start Brooks at the PG against Boston tonight.

would you do a jameer, ryno, hedo and possibly a first to cleveland for sessions, jamison, eyenga

this would be a gamble on getting deron here in the offseason..

next seasons lineup:

deron/sessisons/duhon
jrich/Deron/liggins?
MLE/qrich
Davis/Harper
Dwight/vet. min
Summertime and the livin's easy....

I have no interest in Eyenga. This trade would give the Magic about 26 mil in space this summer to sign Dwight and Deron.

eyenga is the only remotely long term contract they have outside of varejo... and we would need a body at the s.f. spot for rest of season...

why would it only 26mill? my math puts it closer to 34 mill. and thats with a contract to liggins and harper...if im not mistaken they both are not gaurenteed next season correct? and that plan is with jj getting cut...

No deal. I don't eat fast food. Been almost 2 years. Now, make that a Publix sub (boars head) and you gotta deal.

We'd have

25,686,731 in salaries (assuming even 6 mil for Davis next year) including Harper's deal
2,000,000 for 4 cap holds

So that's 27,686,731 assuming we decline Orton and Wafer and since we don't know about Liggins and Hughes, I'm assuming they are toast in this analysis.

Salary cap= 58,044,000 (just for now, not sure of it yet)

$30,357,269 leftover. Numbers are off from my original 26 because of a combination of taking out JJ, adding Harper's real contract, then dropping Orton and Wafer.

Magic still have to resign JJ and Anderson after this season. Their value is currently skyrocketing. I reckon they are both trade bait.

Knowing Otis, he will trade JJ for Andre Miller or Nash and Anderson for Antawn Jamison. He will trade the young guys for aging vets.

JJ is under contract for another season. The team holds the option for next season, and at this rate, I think they'd pick up the $6M tab.

I'm telling everyone, the key is to get Dwight to opt-in to his final year. Then, the summer of 2013 we have JJ, Turk, Jameer, and Dwight coming off the books. Would've had Shard too. We can re-sign Dwight AND throw money at Chris Paul (Clippers coaching & management will still suck) and Iggy/JSmith/Monta/KMartin/JHarden/Ariza/JJ.

Paul
Redick
Iggy
Anderson (if he's still here) or Baby/Harper
Dwight

I know there was the whole discussion about athletes locking up big contracts instead of risking it it by taking these 1 year options, but CP3 did it so there is a chance. It's clear Otis planned on Dwight taking the option to stay cause all our contracts have been set up to expire next year. IMO if Dwight had just taken the extension, we'd all be saying what a genius Otis is in the summer of 2013 when everyone goes off the books and the Magic bring in CP3 or another superstar with all the space we created.

Dwight financially, will be in practically the same boat whichever option he chooses. This won't come down to money.

Does dwight really want to play for the NY fans?

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/post/_/id/9046/everyone-gets-booed-at-msg-even-kemba

If he is so sensitive with the press right now, imagine how he will be if they start a bad stretch and his own home fans start booing him. Also if he thinks that the Orlando press or bad wait till he deals with the post.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

I've been saying something like this for a while. I grew up in New York, went to college in the City, and believe me, there is no way for any player to really get a feel for how much scrutiny, or just how rabid, New York fans are until they play there.

If he thinks he gets some negative press from the Orlando media, he hasn't seen anything yet.

On the other hand, he'd be playing for the Nets. In the order of popularity, they rank very close to the bottom, something like:
Yankees
Giants
Jets
Knicks
Rangers
Mets
Devils
Nets
Islanders
Knights (arena Football)

And it's quite possible the Islanders are ahead of the Nets. They literally could be the least popular team in the New York metro area. Adding Dwight probably changes that, but what happens, they go from 9th to 6th? If that?

In Orlando he owns the town. In New York he'd be just another athlete.

I am surprised a Ballboy has not started a "Trade for Zach Randolph thread."

i dont know that mo is that big of an upgrade over a healthy jameer...these neck spasms might be worse than we know.... mo barely has better vision than jameer and thats what we need...a p.g. that sees the floor and can pass guys open...calderon fits that bill better than mo ...i even think sessions does better than mo... wonder what it would take to get calderon?

side note does calderon and fran have any history together? maybe he would come over next year and fill the backup center spot
Summertime and the livin's easy....
