CP3, potentially Deron (doubt he doesn't leave to Dallas if Dwight opts in tho), JSmith, Iggy, Monta, KMart...

Surely we could get at LEAST one of those if we have good capspace (which we should)?? I mean, CP3, Deron, JSmith, Monta are all good friends with Dwight and want to play with him badly! This is well documented. I almost think it makes more sense for Dwight to sign an extension rather than a 1-yr opt in. The 1-yr opt in leaves a lot of uncertainty (for both the Magic and the potential FAs to come here)...

Another issue is that all of these guys would have to give up that extra 5th yr guarantee bird rights as well as the max raises on their contracts. I assume some of them (Monta, JSmith) who are unhappy with their situations wouldn't mind this though? I wouldn't be shocked at all if JSmith ends up demanding a trade in the summer...I think if Dwight opts in, we might get him on draft day. Might have to give up Ryan though....which is why it stinks. Would theoretically be better to wait until summer 2013, but that leaves a lot up in the air.

Howard must be so p*ssed off at Fegan... we'd have Ellis in a Magic jersey if it wasn't for stupid Fegan and his selfish agendas... and all the bull he told Dwight about opting-out and heading to the Nets... the trust is gone between them. But what's done is done with Ellis... Fegan F'd us hard and kept Dwight second-guessing... deal took too long, GS got impatient and cut us out of the deal. Sigh.

MAYBE there will be some other last minute deal today? Even if it's a minor one? I doubt it.

The main thing is getting Dwight to sign this morning/afternoon.

Depends on what we do in that summer with Hedo and Duhon's semi-guarantees, whether or not Q opts in (I'm sure he prob will)....as well as our ability to cut-and-stretch BBD/JRich. Best case scenario with no other trades (and assuming we re-up Ryan for around $8mil per)....we would only be on the books for $6mil Hedo, $1.5mil Duhon, $8mil Ryno, $2.6 BBD, $2.6 JRich. That's only $20.2 mil. Dwight would be another $20mil basically....leaving us with probably another $20-$22mil available depending on where cap is. If Q opts in, subtract about $3mil. Ideal scenario would be to somehow get rid of Hedo and/or BBD/JRich. That could clear up an extra $8.5 - $11mil. Remember though....this is without Jameer and JJ and no bench. So there's still some work to be done, but I could def see something like
