The rest of the roster shot 3-4 from the Charity stripe; no other OKC starter took a FT. Sad.

It's actually absurd how stacked the Pels are if you think about it...

Zion and Ingram their 1-2 scoring punch (both can avg 25 a game)
McCollum and Trey Murphy can regularly score 20 if need be (Trey Murphy looks amazing btw, 48/41/95)
Valanciunas is just a solid center, Vuc-like production
Stud young defenders in Herb Jones and Alvarado who already know their roles
Naji Marshall and Larry Nance just solid role guys who do their jobs
Jaxon Hayes (a disappointment, but young energy big) and Dyson Daniels (looks intriguing, will be big part of future)
Devonte Graham is whatever, inefficient but still someone that can pop off for 20 randomly
Hernangomez just a solid 3rd big who can fill in

Just insane how many weapons they have..

In Australian football, there's a similar situation where players will "man the mark" in unorthodox ways to distract the kicker. Normally they would just stand there with arms up, like a closeout, but really catching the eye of the kicker is the most important thing. The video below has some examples:

In rugby, its against the laws of the game to move in order to put the kicker off, but we used to all lean to one side in order to distort the kickers sense of vertical. I'm convinced it worked!

Your nightly reminder that sometimes teams have bad games:

Indiana scored 82 points in a loss to Miami. Haliburton scored 1 point in 33 minutes.

Just remember that the next time we see one of our star players struggling!

I have cancelled my The Athletic subscription after Josh Robbins left, but I still get notifications. Today's story "NBA Shooting Rankings, from the Celtics to the Magic."

The truth hurts.

Watched Nuggets/Memphis game and love AG's game so much more in Denver than in Orlando. The magic were simply asking him to do way too much and to be something he wasn't.

I think it was AG himself who wanted to be more and had nobody on the Orlando roster of sheep to redirect him to his best role.

Either way, happy for him he found his niche.

yeah, i agree he wanted to do more (whether he could or could not)

Dwight was the same way. became an almost HOF player, then wanted to do more than he could and fell off the map (also due to some injuries)

I consider Cole on that path as well...clearly talented in all respects, but could really benefit from a strong mentor who can order him to stay in his lane and play team ball. I always think he'd be great in PHO as CP3's caddy and eventual successor.

I wish we were able to get AJ Griffin somehow, he's already so poised for Atlanta.. I can see them moving Collins + others to get him more playing time. Issue is he plays a bit like a guard and is forward sized. I guess he slots in well at SF but they will need a specific sort of defender to really be a good team.

I think Franz and Griffin could be interchangeable at the 2/3, we'd be huge. If for some reason Atlanta did make a big move (Trae, Dejounte, or Collins), we have be in there targeting Griffin, and we could help facilitate the bigger side of the deal with a pick(s) and/or youngish guys.

Wild night out there. Lots of players lighting it up. I guess most teams are ready for Christmas.

Haliburton went from scoring 1 point a couple weeks ago to 43. You never know what's going to happen each night.

I don't get what the point of this tweet is. It is going over my head. Can you explain? I expected it to be a "look at how good Luka is" but he misses the shot? So maybe it is a "Luka is on another level and his team is failing him"?

Basically the latter. His team nor his coaches (most importantly) weren't able to identify that the Bucks knew the play. Luka knew that they know it, and couldn't pivot to another play because coaches weren't aware, so he was forced to throw up a very tough shot that he knew would be guarded perfectly, and was rightfully annoyed afterwards.
