With not knowing what direction the Magic and Rob Hennigan are going, I can only make the suggestion if I am Hennigan I call Sam Presti, in OKC, and offer them Dwight and whatever else to go with him and put the ball in Dwight's hands. Let him be the one to say 'no I do not want to play with Westbrook and Durant' and go to Brooklyn looking foolish"

"If Orlando can get solid core pieces like Ibaka and Harden, or Perkins and Perry Jones, then you really cant say no. Helps both teams out."

that is EXACTLY my thought process. if we have to trade Dwight, we can't go wrong by shipping him out West, getting back solid young pieces to build around, and improving the one team that can stop Miami becoming a dynasty.

as for OKC, they aren't able to pay these players what they're worth. between Harden and Ibaka, someone won't be getting offered the contract they think they're worth, and OKC may be faced with losing them. they also know that they won't beat Miami until they can control the paint and force LeBron outside.

they take the gamble on Dwight because they know it will be damn hard for him to walk away from a championship contending team. heck, there's every real chance they could win it all next year. how does Dwight walk away from that and save face?

most of all, OKC have to hedge their bets. they won't give up BOTH Harden and Ibaka. Perkins contract is a $7M stone that's weighing them down. he's just not worth it.

Howard for Harden, Perkins, Maynor, Perry Jones.

Dwight
Ibaka
Durant
Thabo
Westbrook

and

Perkins/OQuinn
BBD/Nicholson
Hedo/Q/Perry
Harden/JRich/JJ
Maynor/Duhon

still plenty of room to make moves after that. unfortunately, that team would compete for the playoffs and probably just miss out. it's not well equipped to lose to guarantee us some top picks.

I would be OK with just extended harden and pj. Strategically, it makes more sense not to take back an older center and roll with whomever we got. If we are gonna lose, as James may would say, we may as well do it properly.

"Aaron Gordon will cost Henny's job by Dec 2016." Predicted Dec 2014.

"O'Quinn will have a longer and more successful NBA career than Nicholson." Predicted Jun 2012. Verified on Dec 2014.

Perkins and Maynor would have to be included for salaries.

but yeah, i'd probably look to ship Perkins out straight after. i'd be happy just to get an expiring for him.

this team, if it's going to rebuild properly, will need to move all the older guys that can keep this team competitive right now so we can tank hard.

Ibaka and Harden are both up for big deals. I can stomach one max type deal if it's a young gun like Harden but I'd pass on Ibaka, maybe consider Perkins as the C and locker room vet, and take up Maynor and Perry. Cole and Cook and Collison are salary filler and Dwight's the only outgoing pretty much, its tough to make salaries match between these two teams. I'd say Perkins, Harden, Maynor, Perry, picks for Dwight, TPE, and one-two of Duhon, Q, Harper.
The other way to go is get our future PG in Westbrook, offering up a Jameer SnT/Dwight for Westbrook/Perkins swap, and again trying to get Maynor, Perry, picks. I'd prefer Harden though, would be nicer to fill out around a versatile, young SG than a scoring stud PG who'd might carry the team too much instead of lotto tanking, plus losing the chance to experiment Maynor on starting. This is reminiscent of a Blake/DJ trade for Dwight though, don't see it happening unless OKC is motivated and finds Dwight is amenable as well.

If he wants out, cool. I'll thank him for the first seven years, wonder what the hell happened to him and move on.

lmao..they still bitter they got screwed over by the same player they want on their team.lmao

bottom line is...it isnt about winning for dwight.. he just wants to be in a big city like NY. if he cared about winning he'd demand a trade to OKC bc he would for sure win at least 1 with durant there...if he thinks he's going to win anything in brooklyn he's in for a big surprise bc he'll have to get through the miami 3 and the bulls...celtics...that just will not happen with a 3 man team in brooklyn. deron is good but he aint no wade...plus who would be their lebron

Like someone else already mentioned, where there is smoke there is fire.

Him still requesting a trade after we fired about every person that could be fired, and hired very capable people in the FO and most likely most likely gonna hire a good young coach, is a sign he just doesn't wanna be here anymore.

He sees the attention Miami gets, he sees the attention Brooklyn gets, he wants that too. At the end of the day, in almost every aspect of his life, he's still a big baby. Having kids with 100 women & blaming it to God, saying & doing silly things on and off the court & now going "I want what they're having :( :(", c'mon man. Superman? Nah, you'll never be Superman in my book.

Still, if he would come out and apologize, say that he was influenced by the wrong people, and sign an extension THIS SUMMER (though he could get more money next summer I think?) people could still forgive him, cause that's what really happened.

But if it's true that he wants to sue us cause we blackmailed him, even though HE's the one who gave the whole Heroic Loyalty speech, I'd like this case to be closed ASAP.

Rob should give him a deadline, either HE, not Chris Broussard, publicly says what's really going on & either he wants to stay or leave, or we trade him to a team wanting to rent him.

Playing time's over, Dwight. It's time to be the "Man" in Superman, no more Clark Kent.

he already said it in a meeting that he wants out according to sources...there is nothing else to say...trade him to a team for a 1 year rental LOL..would be hilarious if we sent him to the bobcats...

maybe we dodged a bullet somehow..look at what happened to tmac after he left..or maybe we got screwed over..(shaq)

who cares...time to move on from this immature guy..he shoudl've just not signed and got shipped to LA or whatever team we wer gonna send him to.

Heya Guys.

Just think for a second. Does anyone think that Dwight will come off his back surgery and be anything similar to what he have been. IMO he will never be the same player ever. So it is in our best interest to trade him and run him out. I guess the Magic ownership know much better than us that howard is done as a freak athlethe that he was. This surgery is not a joke I remember reading before several months some of you guys oppinions that the rehab on such an injury is a year at least and I did not read anyone who had this type of surgery being 100% again. So why worry I am glad Howard is gone and hope he is. We dont need another Grant Hill. We need a fresh start and we got what we need finally a nice FO and differetn culture here in Orlando. I will be watching those games the forthcoming season with much more interest. No matter that we will tank or whatsoever. For the first time we will have guys that really want to play hard and do not need to please someone else wishes and crap.

P>S> Wish you good luck :P Dwight. You will never be the player that you used to be ( BOOK THAT)

I was trying to think of the worst team in the coldest city to trade and punish Dwight and came up with the Brooklyn Nets

Although wouldn't it be hilarious if we granted his wish after D-Will bolts to the Mavs. I guess it wouldn't be that funny since we would have Brook Lopez & that Kardashian dude on our team but still

Yeah but that was before surgery ... now who knows ? Structural repair on the back disk means bone tissue removed ... do you know how long it takes for the bones to grow back ... years ... Dwight will not play next year if he wants to make a full rehab. He is not training or whatsoever now ... he cannot lift weights ... not talking about bball form at all ...

Does anybody notice the fact that Dwight demands this trade AFTER the draft so he wouldn't get stuck being shipped to Houston.

He's such a POS it really is unbelievable.

We don't want you Dwight. You're a mental malcontent and you will NEVER win a championship.

I hope you're back ruins your career. Just remember that karma is a b****.

And if Hennigan trades him to Brooklyn for a package like Lopez/Brooks/1st round pick, he should be fired on the spot.

That is the WORST possible package we could make. Dwight has betrayed this city and has spit in our eye, and now we're going to trade him to his desired destination for a sh** package? Give me a break.

Either trade him to Houston for their three first round picks, or trade him for Bynum and be done with it.
