I don't know why they picked up Harris, maybe think they need the salary as an option for a future trade, but Harris isn't starting, i am not sure he averages more than 15 minutes or so.
Harris literally started over Suggs last year so I don’t really see why that would change. As it stands right now, he’s the only guy of the six guards who can make threes consistently.
And you’re not understanding that if Harris plays even 15 minutes a night that means neither rookie is playing.
You really can only play four guards in a 10 man rotation. Two of the six guys are going to get squeezed out pretty much completely.
I can’t imagine since they have said they want to make the playoffs that they’re going to pay Harris and Ingles 24 million combined to be glued to the bench.

Fultz/Black
Suggs/ Cole
With Garry Harris playing spot minutes. With Blacks height you could get away with having Black, Cole and Harris on the floor together. It's feeling like we are probably not a playoff team as we are going to have to do alot of lineup experimenting in the first half of the season to figure of what works. Seem very unlikely we have a solid rotation for the majority of the season.

Payton menaged to lose starting job for 3 different coaches in 3 different years.
Yet he was still 100% supporting him as "starter" as he never even tried to find starting level PG or even backup to challenge him.
Harris was slight overpay, but he panicked as he just drafted Hezonja and Gordon, who both played same/similar position as Harris.
One mistake led to another, in year when we had money, instad of FINALLY adressing PG position, we traded Oladipo for Ibaka and signed BIyombo and Green. All 3 players that stil didn't solve fact that it was f**** Elfrid Payton tasked to do thing he can't - run a damn offense.
Evan over night becomes "core"p player by default as only person capable of shooting from perimeter.
Even after Hammond and Weltman took over, they still wasted one whole season doing nothing, than most hilarious thing happends, same roster, where Payton is dropped FOR NOTHING , makes playoffs with DJ Augustin starting. Same DJ Augustin who was brought to Payton's backup. Payton's fade from nba was so quick that in matter of two years he was no longer rotation player.
This is what happends when you think with emotions instad of your head as front office. Payton proved he isn't starting level PG back in 2016. But Hennigan elected to be a blind to a fact.

I've seen talk about logjams here for months.. until our team was a walking infirmary 2 weeks into the season and we were signing players off of the street.
I've seen talk about rookies not getting enough playing time.. until the vets took a backseat and they got ample opportunity.
I think running it back was the decision last year and the way free agency came out this year meant we either had to overpay for someone like FVV or just sit on your hands unless you had a lot of roster spots to fill (like the Lakers).
I personally think we're ripe for a consolidation trade this upcoming season. Can't force the trade if it isn't there.

What we don’t need is someone who criticizes moves before they even play out. By your comments it’s obvious you’re not a fan, but a fatalist.
