This was about the offense. But I don't trust defensive stats for individual performance. They really only work for lineups or team wide evaluation.

DJ really fell off a cliff this year. He had a 110 off. rating last year. 10% worse True Shooting, 10% worse eFG% & 12% worse 3P%
He went from one of the most efficient off. players in the leaque, to a player, far under the leaque avg.
I hope he normalize his shooting a bit, would give our bench lineup a big boost.

If he had the worst defensive rating it would be posted non stop. Bamba has been a good defender this year.

The Magic have the draft, trades and the full MLE to address the point guard position this offseason. Nothing to worry about yet.

I do agree with you that this is almost certainly Augustin's last season in Orlando though.

MLE of 19M won't get you anything of value at the G spot. Trade/Draft is where we needed to grab a guard and let him take his time. Really wish we would've taken a guard and thrown then in G league instead of drafting Jackson who was injured prior draft and was so bad the G league team cut him

I think you're underestimating what you can get for the MLE especially considering we're likely talking about a *backup* point guard - assuming you think Fultz is going to be locked in as next year's starter.

The full MLE is gonna be a little bit over 10M per season. They'll be able to find a highly capable backup PG for that price if that's the route they want to go.

Actually...DJ has already began to turn it around.

In the last 6 games, DJ has averaged 11.5 ppg while shooting 26-57 (45.6 FG% / .566 TS%) including 40% from 3PT range (8-20) + a 31.5 AST% and a 106.3 ORTG.

FYI, DJ Augustin isn't playing starter minutes, both he and Fultz are splitting minutes AND that will begin to change as Fultz gets allowed more.

Also, he's an Unrestricted Free Agent this summer. Just because the MLE isn't enough for a starting caliber PG, its more than plenty for a quality back up PG.

Fultz is the starting PG. The MLE is definitely enough to get a quality back up PG.

Also, Jackson IS on the G-L roster and he was and is still rehabbing but should be back by mid season.

I said it for a while, Gordon is not playing good defense right now. He has tough assingments thats for sure but he is not up to challenge. You could say our guards had it tougher and they did better. I think this season could be a wake up call for Aaron.

Gordon isn't bad on ball defender, but as team defender he kind a blows.
Gordon's whole "gimmick" in nba is to be athletic marvel without much basketball intelligence.
Just when i thought after last year that i was just rude and unfair with that assumption as he improved as passer, he goes whole summer to work on post up , turnaround mid range jumpers. Because ? Reasons.

It's funny how somebody spent 4 months working on part of his game that he menaged to implement like 3 times in 400 min , and shoot 32% from that shots.
