Love it. But I'm only going to buy the Collection #1, was only interested in playing until X5 or maybe X6, zero interest in 7 and 8, so I won't buy the 2nd game.

I think I'll get it on Steam, PS4 price is way higher for me :(

I've actually never played X6-X8, they seem to be duds unfortunately.

I'm always of the belief that Capcom releases stuff like this to test the waters and see if they could pick back up with a series. Hopefully these sell well enough to convince them to make an X9.

I've put in quite a few hours in Farcry5, and love it. Open world like Fallout and you get to kill cult members, what's not to like? Also, just heard about Fallout 76. I can't wait until that comes out, Bethesda is awesome.

A must have title IMO if you are into this type of genre.

Bought it yesterday. About 3 hours in right now and loving it. It's surprisingly mature with its language and plots (only done the intro for Olberic and Primrose so far). Voice over work is quite good, though I find myself cutting them off as I read through quicker lol.

Is it on the PS4? Looking to potentially buy it soon. Square is one of my favorite companies and I trust them with every game. They haven't let me down yet!

Quick question, I'll be getting a PS4 Pro soon (and hopefully an Xbox One X further down the line), does anyone else here play in 4k? If so, do you have any TV suggestions? I was looking at trying to keep it under $700 or so, so far the TCL Roku Tv is the one I've been looking at. What are you guys playing on?

You can get a 2017 55 inch Sony XBR 990E for right under $1k now. I would strongly suggest saving up a little more and getting that. It is such a nicer TV then the TCL. The thing is that if you get a 4K TV you are going to use it for movies and sports in the future, so you want to make it a bit of an investment.

That's a good point.....I see the Sony XBR 990E has stellar reviews. Maybe I'll just save up and buy one of these instead...

I went projector, because after all size matters, lol. I use a 108 inch screen. You need about 14-16 foot distance for that size. Projectors have come a long way and the quality is fairly comparable now. Epson is the best in my view, they've practically invented the technology. The black levels are what to look for, contrast is everything with them. The bulbs get kind of expensive though. I go through 1-2 a year, and they run around $300. I use the projector for everything though, tv, movies, gaming, its always on.

I'm ok with the PS2/GC/Xbox era collections like Devil May Cry, Splinter Cell, God of War, etc. because they feel like a natural upgrade and you're still playing with similar controllers (especially with PS2 upgraded games, the PS3 controller is basically the same except it is wireless) and in some cases TVs. But when it comes to these retro games they just don't feel right with modern controllers, TVs and such. I played through the Genesis collection on PS3 and none of the games looked right or controlled right for me. At least for me I'd still rather play the Genesis and SNES games on their original consoles. Probably PS and Saturn too.

X6 was actually not bad, it's just that it carries the stigma of being painfully difficult due to the mechanics that change up randomly in that game within the stages. It is the "Dark Souls" of the X series. X7 was Chris Duhon level garbage. Hands down the worst game with Mega Man on the title that I have ever played. It's a shame too because X8 is actually solid. No one bothered to play it though since X7 did so much damage to the franchise.

I think this collection will sell well and give Capcom the confidence to put out X9.

Yeah that TV is pretty dope for gaming and reasonably priced. I have a 65 inch Samsung 4K Curved TV 8500 Series which you can see if you want by clicking on https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Curved-65-Inch-Smart-UN65KS8500FXZA/dp/B01C5TFIYQ. It's a shame that Samsung stopped making this TV because it has been a beast for me for 4K gaming.

If you want to review TVs in terms of the 4K gaming performance, go to https://www.rtings.com/. These guys test every function on every TV they review so that you know exactly what you are going to buy.

Not sure who all has done or does any VR gaming but this gem just dropped for the PSVR and looks extremely innovative:

Sony has been doing a great job especially lately on the support of VR. They are starting to develop a solid library of games to choose from and they have quite a few titles coming to the system for the rest of 2018 into 2019. They have also been adding updates to games to support VR as a surprise to gamers such as the wonderful free update they added to Sega Genesis Classics:

I haven't played much lately. I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn and going for 100%, as I usually do in games, but I got bored. I feel like "open world" is shoehorned into everything now, and I get tired of walking around a huge world for no reason. Being empty isn't great, but what's worse than being empty is being waylaid by enemies all the time that essentially give you nothing for killing them. I'd rather it just be empty. Technically you get XP and loot, but the low level loot doesn't matter and the XP becomes negligible after a certain point. Besides, a lot of games now also shoehorn in the XP system, and there isn't much of a difference between level 1 and level 30. Because there can't be. If someone wants to skip everything and only do the main quests, they have to be able to, so the game isn't designed around strict level requirements. All the skills are useless and everything is pointless. That's how I describe a lot of these mainstream games now.

I'll be getting the Shenmue collection, since I have fond memories of playing the first one on Dreamcast and I never played the second. I'll also be getting the new Dragon Quest. Other than that, I don't know if there's anything else I'll be playing soon, aside from daily Fire Emblem Heroes on mobile. I really want a Switch for Zelda, Mario, Pokemon, etc, but I really don't want to buy one yet. What are the chances that the current model will remain the primary model for the entirety of the Switch's lifespan? Both of the other consoles got upgraded, and Nintendo upgraded the 3DS. Surely there will be a new model at some point.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
