How’d that work out for them? Now he’s an expiring contract instead of a guy with 1.5 years left at likely double the value when Magic had nothing to gain this time last season. Womp womp.

Play stupid games.

Probably is even more desirable now that he is an expiring tbh.

Fultz is worthless. A guard being paid 17m without a jumper in today’s nba is crap

Cole's role becomes less important if the Magic add a 32-35 MPG lead guard who can score like Murray or Simons.

Fultz could handle backup PG duties if he's not part of the trade.

I disagree, the Jazz years ago had a starting lineup of Mitchell and Conley and still had Clarkson and Joe coming off the bench. Cole will get his mins as a microwave scorer off the bench. I just don’t see the Magic trading Cole when they just resigned him in the offseason and he has been great so far. I really think the magic like Cole.
I agree with this. Cole is good already and a key contributor to wins, he's just still super streaky. Variance should decline with experience. I just don't think he should be in the top 5 of mins played.

He is good. But not sure how playable he is in the playoffs. He’ll likely be hunted because of his height.

Yeah, his role needs to be reduced. Ideally we'd lean on Black more.

Got to trade value to get value... Cole is gone if someone wants him and we're getting a legit starting guard back.

I agree he is gone if it means getting someone like Murray or Simons and ATL and Portland love him that much.

However, the Magic have a ton of assets where I can’t imagine Cole being the primary chose for either team especially on a newly signed contract. And I do feel like the Magic like what he brings.

Might be an unpopular opinion but now is the time to trade for Desmond Bane. He is out for 6 weeks and they are basically done for the season. Would require a haul however.
Something like Wendell, Markelle, AB, Jett, Denver pick, plus our pick. Wild but I’d do it.

Yeah, there is no way they trade Bane. Ja is out for the season... not for his career. They're not looking to completely tear it down.

Man, just bring Anfernee home. As long as the deal doesn't include Paolo, Franz, Suggs, or AB, I'm ready.

I like Simons, but he’s pretty obviously a shooting guard who can pass a little and not really a lead guard, no? Kind of a rich man’s Cole Anthony.

I’d still want to get Tyus too even if they traded for Simons.

I agree with adding Tyus too.

Who's your preference between Simons and Murray?

Good question.

Murray is the better all-around player, especially if he can find the elite defensive form that he showed in San Antonio. But he’d also cost considerably more because of that IMO.

Simons’ weaknesses are more severe than Murray’s. He’s a worse passer and much worse defender. I also question whether or not Simons can actually play full time point guard on a team that’s trying to win. Pretty sure Murray can.

But for this team? It’s hard to overlook Simons 3PT shooting.

Tonight was the 7th time in just 18 games played this season where Simons has made *at least* five threes in a game. That would be No. 1 on the Magic by a mile.

Fultz+Harris+China is almost 36M in expiring contracts

We have future 1st available

I can't see Rob not Moving any of these expiring

If lavine is willing to be a 3rd option, his contract expires once we start paying our top dogs

Ticks all boxes

Vet entering his prime
Lethal offensé
Good passer
Good 3pt
Attacks The basket
Spread floor
Cost at all time low
Can play defense when motivated

Fultz+Harris+chuma+den 1st+ 2 2nds + queen for lavine

Suggs, Cole, AB
Lavine, Cole, Jett, Houstan
Franz, Joe, Houstan
Paolo,ji,moe
Wcj, goga, Moe

Very deep and still flexibility
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe

simons would fit more, imo.
And murray is a wannabe star, imo. I dont think he fits the team.

Yes, i can remember the lets wait and see discussions here too.
We have 8 young guards for two spots? Lets wait and see who evolves the best (while destroying trade value of all the others), a.k.a. im Magic FO and afraid of doing trades because i could lose them so im doing rather nothing at all
