Completely agree.

How’d that work out for them? Now he’s an expiring contract instead of a guy with 1.5 years left at likely double the value when Magic had nothing to gain this time last season. Womp womp.
Play stupid games.

I agree with this. Cole is good already and a key contributor to wins, he's just still super streaky. Variance should decline with experience. I just don't think he should be in the top 5 of mins played.Rainwater wrote:Knightro wrote:Rainwater wrote:
I really don’t see the Magic trading Cole, he has been good in his role this year.
Cole's role becomes less important if the Magic add a 32-35 MPG lead guard who can score like Murray or Simons.
Fultz could handle backup PG duties if he's not part of the trade.
I disagree, the Jazz years ago had a starting lineup of Mitchell and Conley and still had Clarkson and Joe coming off the bench. Cole will get his mins as a microwave scorer off the bench. I just don’t see the Magic trading Cole when they just resigned him in the offseason and he has been great so far. I really think the magic like Cole.

Yeah, his role needs to be reduced. Ideally we'd lean on Black more.fendilim wrote:eyriq wrote:I agree with this. Cole is good already and a key contributor to wins, he's just still super streaky. He is good. But not sure how playable he is in the playoffs. He’ll likely be hunted because of his height.

Something like Wendell, Markelle, AB, Jett, Denver pick, plus our pick. Wild but I’d do it.

Don’t see them trading Bane.

I like Simons, but he’s pretty obviously a shooting guard who can pass a little and not really a lead guard, no? Kind of a rich man’s Cole Anthony.
I’d still want to get Tyus too even if they traded for Simons.

I agree with adding Tyus too.
Who's your preference between Simons and Murray?
simons would fit more, imo.Knightro wrote:thelead wrote:Knightro wrote:

Good question.
Murray is the better all-around player, especially if he can find the elite defensive form that he showed in San Antonio. But he’d also cost considerably more because of that IMO.
Simons’ weaknesses are more severe than Murray’s. He’s a worse passer and much worse defender. I also question whether or not Simons can actually play full time point guard on a team that’s trying to win. Pretty sure Murray can.
But for this team? It’s hard to overlook Simons 3PT shooting.
Tonight was the 7th time in just 18 games played this season where Simons has made *at least* five threes in a game. That would be No. 1 on the Magic by a mile.
