Utah has two bigs bro. Favors and Kanter. Big Al and Millsap are UFA's.

Yeap, dont u think they 'll keep at least one or them?

Unless they can convince a better free agent to come to town, they are probably looking to keep both. Utah is one of the teams that needs to worry about the salary floor.

yeah, I was trying to figure out a draft day deal with Utah for a while, until I realised that they won't be moving Favors or Kanter until they get a long term commitment from Jefferson or another big.

so they may consider moving one of them after that, if it means they can add their PG of the future, but that deal wouldn't form on draft day, I don't think.

I sure hope that's true. From what I've read I thought he seemed like a pretty good kid with a level head on his shoulders. Well, as level a head as a kid with that much talent can have as a high school senior.

What we don't need here are any more prima donnas. Dwight soured me in the "good guy that's been misguided by his agent" theme for many years to come.

Did I read it correctly that the magic are guaranteed a top 4 pick for having the worst record in the NBA?

So does that mean if the lottery happens and 3 teams are picked before us we are guaranteed the #4 pick?

Yes Orlando will not draft worse than 4, and for that to happen, three other teams must win the given lottery slots at 1-3. This would not be weird as Orlando has only a 64.2% chance to be in the top 3. Indeed, Orlando has a greater individual chance to draft 4 than at a specific higher slot; that is: 25% overall #1, 21.5% at #2, and 17.7% for #3.

For some perspectives, the worst team has drafted as such
2012: #2, Charlotte
2011: #2, Timberwolves
2010: #3, Nets
2009: #4, Kings
2008: #2, Heat
2007: #4, Grizzlies
2006: #4, Trail Blazers

Note: the worst team has not recently won the lottery draft.

To make it as simple as possible, the lottery is actually just for the top 3 picks and then it goes by record.

Zmill wrote:Why would Utah trade Favors for Noel? Favors + Kanter are the future of that squad. Seems like a sideways move for them.. If not a backwards one.

But i like the idea though. I would love to form a two tower lineup with Vucevic and Favors/Noel/Randle/Gordon.

I doubt it, but then again I never understood what the hell they are trying to do over there. They have two super talented big men who don't get enough run. It's not like they are a great team fighting for a high seed, why not ship those older big men and build around the younger guys.

Because those younger big men are probably not as good as we think they are. People just assume that since they are young, they are going to be great some day.
