If your only desire is to lose as many games, than sure.

But let's get real, even worst teams want to have some structure that does not hinder their assets.

Magic projected depth chart today is:

SG: Evan/Ross/--
SF: nobody/ Ross
PF: Gordon/Aminu/ Okeke

Is'a already bad as it is and FA will be used to fill SF spot, it's almost a given.

Lose Evan and your depth chart is
SG: Ross/ nobody /nobody
SF : Gordon/nobody/nobody
PF : Aminu/ Okeke

Not only that you washed your pick for basically nothing ( since that's what most 25-30 picks are ) , you also just pulled Ross into starter, something he can't be, and Gordon out of position, position where he flat out sucks at.

And now you are starting Aminu who spent whole year hurt and is 30.

So now you are burning yet another $9M ( 3 years, $30M ) mid level exception on another questionable player like Solomon Hill,Moore, KCP ... just to have funcional roster and you will still need additional, traditional SF. Once again, don't forget Magic moved second round picks to not play that many rookies.

It's a mess. Evan, if traded, should be traded for 2 players or 1 that has longer contract that actually can play rotation min, not pick that will turn into some new Darius Bazley or Mfiondu Kabengele ( yea, that's what late first rounders give you most of the time, guys you need to google to find they exist )

No, my desire is to build for the future, not for 2021 because clearly the way this team is assembled, we arent competing this year against teams like the bucks, nets, 76ers, celtics, heat. So clear room, develop young guys, and plan for the long term

Id much rather send out a lineup of
Fultz\Anthony in the backcourt, both are interchangable and can play the 1-2
Vuc\Gordon at C and PF
and then at SF, give iwundu a chance, let Chuma play some SF, give Frasier some PT for once, bring back Clark for min etc

And btw, id trade evan for Bazley straight up right now if OKC would do it, they wouldnt

As for Aminu, id rather they pay him to stay home than ever have to watch him in a game, hes horrible, and anyone who was on this board with their homer classes off told you that last year. It was a horrible signing then and now. Hopefully they find a way to get him off the roster asap

I hated the Aminu signing when it happened and I still hate it now. I agree. They should tell him to stay home. I'd even let Bamba play the 4 over him.

Skin, my friend, every year we have this talk about building to future, for last 4 years. Every year your imaginary goalpost is being moved to 2 years in advanced. We are now already moving " dream scenario " to 2022.
Soon you will be in line with Martins promised championship when it comes to deadlines

As far as Darious Bazley and value goes, i'm confident that some teams would trade him for good waterboy if that type of trades are legal

Or for one night stand ****r for Harden

Wow...
He can probably still be extended right? The team that trades for him can extend him.

OH HELL YES!!!! HALELUJAH IF TRUE!!!

I never expected Evan to force his way out. Last thing on my mind. Christmas could be coming early!

Wonder what sparked this. Does he feel threatened in terms of playing time? Tired of losing? How is Vuc taking this news?

Yes, he can be traded to another team and re-signed. New deal will just start after this year, since he already picked his player's option for 2020-21.

it will be kind a wild if all 3, Vuc, Gordon and Evan want to leave team and actually play some meaningful basketball for first time in their lifes. Would make Orlando look like sad, sad organisation and it would be terrible look for Weltman and Hammond as they would be ,after 3 years of doing nothing, forced into rebuild , who they are too old to be part of.

So he accepted his option and wants out? Sure.

I wish this was an option prior to the draft.

Whatever... let’s find a two way wing.

He wants to be wanted ... but also keep his $17M.

We just drafted a replacement for him and clearly have no interest in keeping him beyond this year.

It'll be easier to get a contract if he's traded now instead of waiting until next year.

Same was said about Vuc and Gordon after we drafted their replacements, so I don't see obvious writing on the wall. But maybe Fournier was given the promise we'd move him to a contender if he opted in?

He could be the Bogdanovic replacement. Or to the Nuggz for Barton. Or to the Clippers for LouWill + filler (send LouWill to another contender).

Looks like the dream of Fournier to Golden State is gone.
Those tax bills are no joke. They are going to pay an insane amount to add Oubre.

I think they were trying to move Lou.
