In this whole playoffs only last game of Suns and Clippers was "defensive" game, mostly because teams were too busy throwing bricks to the point where Clippers missed 11 FTs ( main star 6 himself ).

You interview guy like him because he has good relationship with Luka Doncic and because Luka said he could be coach in nba?

There is video that is year old where Jamahl is slapping Luka in a face and you can see in Luka's reaction that he is not pleased. However, it seems like they liked each other given everything Luka told.
But to understand that relationship you have to know that Luka's career long coach is Pablo Laso, guy famous for yelling all the time and having that "tough love " approach so it's probably what Luka is used to.
I'm not sure Magic or any other team's players will be pleased with that approach.

Defense first because a lot of it is effort. Plus everyone loves to play on offense but when shots stop falling, what’s going to keep you in the game is keeping the effort going on the other end. A lot of players start hanging their heads and decreasing the effort when that happens.

Defense is still important, even in this era. Its just individual defense thats overrated, as long as a coach has a good scheme and can prepare the players to play good team defense, then it important. Thats why certain coaches have top defenses every single year no matter who their players are. Like the Knicks this year. I mean if i told you that you would have a team defense lead by Julius Randle and RJ Barrett, youd think it was a 20 win team ranked last in the NBA. Enter Coach Thibs, and the knicks had 3 of the top 13 players in the league in defensive winshare (2 - Randle, 3 - Nerlens 13 - RJ), and 2 in defensive rating, Randle and noel. This year, randles dwinshare was 4.3, his previous high in any season was 2.6 and every other season of his career was under 2.

Plus, his current job is as "defensive coordinator" of the mavericks, what else is he suppose to say, "who cares about defense"?

Oh...I like that
Definitely moving this guy up the list

I'm a fan. Relationship oriented. Develops young players. Has character. He checks the boxes right now. Even if he's a defensive coach, he can bring in an offensive specialist to help develop the young players.

Anyone who tells Lebron James to shut the f@@k up can definitely coach this team! Seriously though, he looks like the type of guy the Magic could use on the bench. Can develop players and has some freaking stones. I’ll root Mr. Mosley on if he gets hired.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

This is pretty interesting....i heard that he said before that he wants to stay in memphis....so this is probably him going through the interview process so when he is ready to make the NBA jump he'll know what to expect

I am very surprised that Penny would consider taking the Orlando job at this point in the process for several reasons.

1. The Magic are going to be pretty bad no matter how good of a coach he is.
2. We'll see where the prospects end up, but Memphis could very well land two of the best guys out there (Bates and Duren) for 2022.
3. His son plays on the team and has two years left.

I'd be totally supportive of Penny Hardaway as the next coach, but I wonder if he really wants it.

Penny the player was one of my favorite players of all time. Penny the coach idk. Especially coming from the college ranks. I would be open to it though.

Tinfoil hat in me says we sign a rookie coach we can fire in 2 years wherein Penny is ready to make the jump to us

Be pretty ironic if the players revolt against him to get him fired lol. It would be cool for nostalgic reasons, but how good a coach is he really? Great recruiter. Least it would add some excitement to the team. I'm to the point of either hiring Penny or Becky just to give the franchise a jolt of excitment and interest. We have been boring for a long time.
The hero Orlando deserves is out there somewhere, Dwight was not the one we needed. So we will hunt for him...

I hope not. If Penny wants to coach and he’s ideal just sign him now. Don’t put two years of player development on hold. That woild be repeating the JV mistake.

And please for the love of all humanity don’t sign anyone just for tickets. Get the right guy here.

Spell his name correctly at least

It's Atkinson with a T.

In regards to Penny, this is going to be a remarkably young roster next year, so really any college coach would fit the bill as someone who has experience working with and developing young players.

The Magic legend stuff is an added bonus, but nothing more IMO.

Yea I’d get behind it but would have pretty low expectations. I haven’t been too impressed with him coaching college, but the game is so different and success rarely translates one way or the other. He could wind up a great pro coach.

Would just love to see Penny back on the sidelines though. I’d bring Lil Penny to the arena lol
