Gets assists, can shoot, can score, can play defense. Can play off and on ball.
Guy averages 24 ppg ,7 apg on positive BPM ( 2,7) and 58% TS. But Hornets suck so nobody cares, he is 29 so he is in his prime.
I'd be excited about that although not my first choice...most on the trade boards put his defense up there (down there?) with Simons'. In both cases, the numbers would drop, dummies would not recognize that's situational and expected - assuming efficiency and winning went up. Both Simons and Rozier actually have efficient scoring numbers, considering their losing situations and the way they're probably being defended. Both score from inside and out, but I'd say Simons is the more elite 3pt shooter.
Rozier is older, but not too old (29 to Simons' 24). Simons is a truly elite athlete-slam dunk champ. Rozier is smaller (6'1 w/a 6'8 wingspan to Simons' 6'3 w/ a 6'9 wingspan). Their remaining contracts are similar....Who's available? Respective cost to get them? and, most significantly, what's their mindset/BBIQ/vision of their role?
It could simply be a function of personality - CJ McCollum is an articulate, intelligent natural leader who flourished when he was "freed" from POR's shadow. I don't really have any insights about how they'd each fit with our guys' excellent chemistry. If the asking price for Simons is too high...and CHA had Rozier available- would make sense to look at it.
I’d be ok with Rozier or Jones on a not super long term deal. I like the idea of Brogdon, but he is injured as much as guys already on this roster.
Back to the OP…
Fultz should be gone by seasons end. One of my biggest pet peeves of this org is how everyone is treated like “family” regardless of what they contribute. I don’t like the idea of handing dudes contracts (regardless of size) based on the idea that they are “nice” people or what they provided in the past rather than present. That’s not how the league operates with successful teams.
