If that were the case, then why the hell does Dwight even consider NJ anymore?

So they let Deron walk and sign Lin to be their PG =)

Lin keeps playing in NY and D12 goes to the Nets :P

Why not?
If you refer to the rule about trading future first round picks two years in a row than it doesnt hold since we already traded last year's pick.

You guys saying we'd have to many guards....well obviously there would be a trade, JR Smith can ball n he's one of Dwights buddies,

Imagine, a month from now, a Nash/JR Smith backcourt, with Jrich at the 3, and Hedo off the bench.

We need more talent, and athleticism in our backcourt, we need a REAL pg and a SG who can take people off the dribble.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

If we were able to get that, there is little doubt in my mind that we would be contenders.

I'm a big JR Smith fan, wanted him here for a while, actually. The fact that he and Dwight are close is just a bonus, to me.

Yeah.
http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2009/0 ... smith.html
Authorities said Smith, behind the wheel of his parents' 2003 GMC Yukon Denali, drove around a car stopped at an intersection in Millstone and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The collision threw Smith and Bell, who were not wearing seat belts, from the SUV. Smith sprained his left shoulder. Bell sustained massive head injuries. By the time his mother arrived at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, doctors told her he had no brain activity. Bell died two days later.

SO, Brook Lopez returned to practice yesterday after his early foot injury. I don't know if I want him to succed in his return becuase he might be our new center, or if I want him to look like a stiff so the Magic aren't more inclined to trade for him if Dwight doesn't commit to Orlando next month. :-?

According to hoopsworld.com, Magic have emerged as the leading suitor for JR Smith. Magic have 4.9 MLE still available.

I hope this is an omen that the Magic are looking to swing JJ/Meer/Clark and 2 1sts for Deron or Ellis.

Imagine

Deron or Ellis
Jrich/JR Smith
Hedo/QRich
Ryno/BBD
Dwight

I hope we get JR. He is a bonafide scorer and a guy, unlike most of our players, who won't get scared when things get rough in the playoffs.

Sign Smith and then work a trade to the Suns for Nash using 1 of our SGs.

Nash
Smith
Turk OR Q OR Earl (b/c our 1/2 are weak defensively)
Anderson
Dwight

That's a team that can compete for the ECF with a great mix of scoring and defense. With JJ/Baby/Von coming off the bench all we need is a backup center and I think that team is ready to make a run.

Something else HAS to be in the works.

JRich
JJ
Wafer
Liggins
JR Smith

??????

I'd expect 2 out of that group to be on their way out, if we do get Smith; and the 2 with the greatest value are JRich & JJ.

Trade for Nash AND Robin Lopez to be backup C. Done.

JJ has the most value because of his contract. But, JRich has strangely been tearing it up lately. I wonder if there is a chance he could be headed to GSW in a deal involving Ellis. . .

As long as Ryno stays here, I think everyone else is expendable.

I'm down with that, but how much would we have to give up for them? And I don't think if they are rebuilding they are going to want our crap. I say we offer up Nelson/Richardson/???

I want to keep JJ. JR would be a good addition though, we desperately need wing scoring. Arent Dwight and JR close friends?
