Because, Anthony morrow has had more than 2 awesome games in his career.

You would think that Exum would have to blow away the Magic front office for them to take him over Smart or Randle (and possibly Vonleh). There is too much to like about those prospects to just take Exum on a whim. That said, I fully expect that Exum performs well and that we draft him if the top 3 US prospects are gone.

So today's flavor is Anthony Morrow? I thought you were still on the Reece Gaines thing...

You won't lose with Smart or Randle, but would be taking a risk with Vonleh a bit but a massive risk with Exum. Could be Darko or could be Deron or could be average.

Yeah, everyone is claiming Orlando loves Exum simply because we need a PG for the future and Henny is one of the few people to go and see Exum play. No where in the reports does it say that Henny actually liked what he saw...
We had many reports last year that Henny was infatuated with Marcus Smart. Now, that was a lesser quality draft so the goal was more to get a long term, quality starter than a super star but still...
Henny has earned my trust as having an eye for talent. I just want to wait until he actually has a workout with Exum and we start hearing that he loves what he sees (not just that he saw him) before I get overly excited.

Thus, Not One Insider can say that the Magic like Exum and be truthful about it without an actual Source.

Can I see the reports? Was this an article or something? Got links?

BadMofoPimp wrote:I sure hope Henny is helping that agent build the hype on this kid so that they can do a draft day trade to drop down, still take Smart and have another lottery pick to make that a total of (3) Lottery picks. That would be an epic Henny move.

It is in just about every report.
This isn't a case of Henny living in Australia for a year. This is a case where fewer than 5 NBA teams had reps see him in person before the combine. Orlando was one of those and we not only sent a scout, but Henny himself went over. 1 visit > 0 visits.
But again, no one knows what Henny thought of what he saw. People are immediately assuming he walked away in love with Exum.

BadMofoPimp wrote:Quite possibly true but it wasn't Henny that went over there, it was Orlando assistant GM Matt Lloyd.

Hmm, I could have sworn I read "Orlando GM in attendence" for at least one of Exum's games. Perhaps it was in fact "assistant GM" that I read. I'll have to track down that particular article. Either way, this makes the story even cloudier.

This is true of Henny, but there are leaks in his staff (just like any other) as we had a pretty good idea on where he was going last year.
Marcus Smart was "the guy" until he pulled out of the draft. After that, the closest thing the draft had to offer for a tough nosed, high character (this was before the shove), ultra-athletic guard was Dipo. We knew very well what Henny wanted and who he thought fit that description best. Just about everyone expected it to be Dipo as we closed in on draft night.
Still, this could be a much different draft. With Irving and Waiters in place, I think we knew Cleveland was not taking a guard so it was easier for Orlando to leak news on who they liked at #2. This year we are more at the mercy of the teams ahead of us and that makes leaks more dangerous. We might not here nearly as much as we did last year (which still wasn't much).
