I think there are lot of similarities, but most people view Melo now as "negative comp", ignoring he is one of guys who scored 28+ K points, was allstar 12 times and is HOF (soon to be).
In his second year he was best player on 49-33 team.
In his 3rd year, at age of 21, he was 8th best scorer (within 1 point of top 5), and probably was top 10-ish best player in a league.
I don't know what Paolo is, but he seems to be some cross between Melo, Boozer, Randle with clear Lebron's influence.
True. Except the scoring thing blew up in today's NBA era wherein Melo was still in the after-effects of the grind it out 90s scoreboard.
