where'd you get the idea that he's a cancer? or terrible?

he was a huge cancer in philadelphia. webber isn't anywhere near the player he was even 2-3 years ago. i guess its a worthwhile risk, but anyone putting stock into a guy being a key factor is going to be sorely mistaken.

Webber's game is floating around shooting his flat jump shot, and not rebounding.

Also, do the magic really need ANOTHER pathetic defender?

id say the cancer was iverson in philly. Iggy and Webber would have been a nice duo. IMO.

webber skipped out on fan appreciation day along with iverson the last game of the year. But at least iverson can play, webber cant anymore.

Say, Mr. Webber, who sounds better now, Detroit or Orlando?

Hope so. I don't like the idea of Webber on this team. He'll shoot too many 19 ft jumpers and not defend enough. It's a tough call though because we need a 4 really bad, just not the kind of 4 the Webber plays.

People are crazy not to want Webber. He kills 3 birds with one stone. He would become the 2nd best big man on the team starting at PF, he moves Lewis to his natural position and he moves Hedo to the bench, giving us a major weapon from there. I hope we get Webber. He would help not doubt.

well, I really dislike Webber a lot, and am ok with not getting him...However, should he decide to join, and he actually comes in to contribute it cannot be denied how useful he would be off the bench...his passing, "post-up" and rebounding would be a great upgrade...he's basically like a veteran Cook at this point with much better passing...he has a nice shot range game, and a so-so longer range shot...Dwight would benefit with him in there as well...

All of the moving Lewis to his natural position and moving Hedo to 6th man sounds great. The only bad part is inserting Webber. Webber would be a tough fit on our team. I'm not sure that he would be truly happy with the role we need him to play and I'm definitely sure that we wouldn't be happy with the role he would like to play.

Webber has decent range, but shoots too much. Webber will give effort on defense, but isn't quick enough to stay with anybody. Webber can pass in a half court setting, but can't run on a break very well anymore. Offensively Webber could help us if he takes a backseat role. Defensively Webber would be a major liability. I realize that Hedo can't guard physical bigs but he can stay with perimeter players. Webber can't stay with anybody.

At this point he could set our team chemistry back again and that's not a risk I'd want to take on a player who isn't going to be here very long.

No. Usually with my short sword.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Interesting timing ...

wiretap wrote:RealGM Staff Report -
Chris Webber has often criticized his former coach in Philadelphia Jim O'Brien and on Monday, O'Brien finally responded in a News-Journal article.

"In one of the first conversations I had with Chris Webber, I said, 'This is one of the ways we're going to use you offensively [down low with Kyle Korver on the outside],' " O'Brien said. "And he said, 'Coach, I don't do the low-post thing anymore.'

"We just made a major trade to bring in this 6-[foot]-11 guy and he said, 'No,' and I said, 'Yes, you do.'

"Webber didn't practice at all that year prior to coming to us," he said. "I think he was just at the point where he didn't necessarily feel he was in need of practice, or could practice. It became apparent that he was not going to give the Philadelphia 76ers everything that we had hoped for."

everything said about webber in the paragraph is true. He's a baby, and not a good player anymore. He doesnt rebound, has a terrible, flat jumpshot which he shoots to much. And doesnt play a lick of defense. Go on the sixers board and ask their assessment of Chris Webber's game.

If that's true, I would much rather have P.J. Brown. He's like a clone of Tony Battie.

I don't know. I wouldn't mind giving him a shot for the rest of the season. In all liklihood we wouldn't extend him anyway since Batman would be back, so if he doesn't work out, no big loss. But if he does, he can help with putting 'shard at his natural spot and Hedo coming off the bench and all that stuff that's been said a hundred times. Wouldn't mind having a vet for a playoff run, either.

Oh how the mighty have fallen...
Remember when we traded him for Hardaway???
It's weird seeing some of the decline of the stars of our generation. Him, Shaq, Penny.
At least he is still in the leauge... Sort of
I'd still rather have P.J., but I haven't hear a word about him connected to Orlando. Anybody else hear anything about him?
