Nine Magicians tabs at least one assist. That is amazing.

Season is off to a fireworks start.
8 different teams already made at least 15 three point shots, and 5 teams are yet to play first game

I didn't watch, but if that happened it's an example of when boxscore or advance metrics might not tell a correct story.

It did.. there was a sequence where he was up JJJs grill, even blocked and almlst stole the ball from him in the 3pt line. Yet JJJr just flipped it up and it still went in. Lol

I love that Suggs can get 3 fouls in the 1st half and it’s no big deal. Bench brought 38 pts.

Nothing. Just fouls.

Three fouls in the first quarter meant only 5 minutes in the first half.

Then he played the first 8 minutes of the third quarter as the Magic extended to lead to like 30 and he didn’t come back in for garbage time obviously.

Wow...didn't watch it, but the stats are jumping out at me...shooting, rebounding...the 3rd string numbers are woeful, but really good teams don't even really talk about their 3rd string. Having said that, there ARE good players there for us that just didn't play well.

Fantastic win. So many positive things - very good ball movement for most of the game which created a lot of wide open corner threes which we shot pretty well. Paolo was dominant, Franz's three ball looked good and he played great too. Gary Harris shot lights out and showed how silly the whole "why is he getting minutes" narrative is. KCP shot poorly but was fantastic on defence. Suggs was amazing when he was on the court but fouled too much early on. Black looked solid and much more confident than last year.

Both Paolo and Franz ending up with zero turnovers is a very positive sign given how much they handled the ball.

Heat third string went on a 13-0 run over the last like 4 minutes to make it seem closer than it really even was.

It was a vicious mauling from the start of the third Q through about midway through the fourth.

Morning after, still feels amazing. The turnover improvement is insane if it holds, and even though we lost the turnover battle, which is odd, this bodes extremely well for the offense.

Our defense was driven by rebounding and eFG%. We were an average defensive team in eFG% last season so if we take a leap here...

I will lighten up on Cole. He had a good floor game and handled the ball well. We really need him to have a decent scoring season though.

THAT PASS BY PAOLO TO FRANZ OMFG!! I’ve watched that replay about 10 times already and still amazed by it. That’s going to be there all season for those two, Paolo draws so much attention on defense there will be plenty backdoor opportunities for Franz.

Paolo has ELITE guard vision for a 21 year old 6’10” forward

I only got to see highlights, but you can see the game has slown down for Black. I counted 3 behind the back passes, and while I didn't count, multiple passes where the extra pass got the 3-ball. The ball is moving.

But lets be real, this win rests solely on Paolo shoulders.

Franz the elephant second.

Garry Harris third.

I’m still bothered and confused by that Suggs 3 pointer that was totally taken away from us. I get he stepped out of bounds but if the referee didn’t see it or call it and the other team didn’t challenge it HOW can league office call in and change it in game???? Anybody know if this is a new thing this year? Seems like this could potentially be a Pandora’s box nobody should want. Feels like a butterfly effect, if Suggs technically stepped out of bounds then the clock would have stopped prior to the shot going up. So if after the fact they change it to him stepping out they also have to add time back onto the clock.

Yup I own the Franz elephant thread lol and say what he did last night is exactly what I hope for from him this season. I liked after he settled in it seemed he wasn’t thinking about his 3 ball before shooting and when he did that it was MUCH better. Just want Franz to give us say 36-37% on threes this season and add that level 2 scoring ability to open up his drives more.

I could only watch replays but I listened into the radio while reading here. All 3 paint a bleak picture. Yet, just like Gary Harris had a stellar first game, I imagine the lead scoring will be done by committee.

That being said, on paper, Gary Harris should feast most nights as he is playing against allegedly weaker second units.

Example, while KCP did not have a great shooting night either, I am confident him / Suggs / WCJ / Paoalo / Franz lock down defense won the quarter. Based on Franz / Paolo / Suggs offense, and the team defense, Miami didn't have an answer. This is / was the vision the second we saw KCP be signed.

It's a rule change and I don't like it. Either the refs see it or they don't. They are either useless and blind, or they are not. Its a partial facet of the game.

Orlando Stocks counter last night was 16 (8 steals / 8 blocks = Stocks). Amazing.
