I trust management will make a good choice but my only requirement is to get someone who can shoot/score ideally a point guard.

4. Nickeil Alexander-Walker - Jack of all trades, master of none
5. Tyler Herro - T-Rex shooter, who I like, but I don't think he fits the WeHam mold.
6. Romeo Langford - Not a fan but is at least an attempt to fill a need
7. Mfiondu Kabengele - Depth pick if Isaac stays at SF
8. Bol Bol - If Vuc is let go...
9. Bruno Fernando - If Vuc is let go...
10. Keldon Johnson - Nice physicality, but I don't see an upgrade over Isaac at SF

Do you attribute a lot of Cam Reddish's shooting struggles to the injury? Or are you just not concerned about it.

I just think he's young and still learning how to put it all together. I love everything about his combination of size, athleticism, shot mechanics, handle, bbiq, character...

All he needs is time and a coach who won't let his motor quit because I really feel like he has legit All star components.

Side note: Reddish and Bamba played on the same high school team. Would be cool to see them reunited.

I think Reddish has to be very high on Weltman's big board. He does provide a lot of things you suggested and I think another big part of his poor fg% was the sheer amount of 3's he took last year. 7.4 of his 12 attempts were 3 pointers and he still shot a decent enough percentage on those 3's. His ft% gives me hope he can improve there as well. && don't get me wrong his 2pt fg% is concerning as well, but he really flashes alot of potential as a finisher if you watched him this year. I think there is a lot of room for improvement.

If we were to move up in this draft Id want it to be for a guy like Reddish if he dropped past the top 7. I think Culver/Hunter are top 7 locks and that the asking price to move up for one of those two would be too high. Reddish could be had at a bargain though imo depending on how the night goes.

I do not, however, think there is a scenario where he falls to us or even past 10-12 which is why I did not include him in the poll. We would have to move up to get him.

I would give up 16 and next year's first. Atl might take that offer up.

I think he's got McGrady written all over him.

A group of Reddish, Isaac, Gordon, Bamba and cap space is sure to attract a top FA PG.

I'd be okay with that, I like him. I like Keldon Johnson too, and my dark horse is Windler. The guy carried Belmont on his back this year. A lot of depth for what we need actually.

Edit: Also, Herro reminds me of Mike Miller. :D

Windler is interesting.

I think Alexander-Walker has great upside as a 3-D player. He is not in my opinion a ":average" stater" I project him as a specialist. 3-D specialism.

To me free throw percentage is a good indicator as well, what's NAW free throw percentage?

maybe in a few years. Right now, the game looks too big offensively for Isaac, Bamba cant stay healthy and Reddish was the 3rd ranked recruit coming out of HS and had a lackluster year.

For me right now.......

My personal hope for #16: Porter Jr.
The safe choice: NAW
Wouldn't be mad at: Herro or Little

Porter Jr to me has a lot of potential to be a creator off the bench or possibly more, high potential to me.

NAW is solid all around which makes him to me the safe choice, does a lot of things well but not any one thing great.

Herro is a scorer plain and simple, shouldn't expect defense out of him but he shouldn't be a liability either.

Little has come around for me, saw some footage recently that made me realize his ball handling and shooting was a little under sold to me. Add the athleticism and defense and length wouldn't be mad if little was the guy.

Welp now that we are 5 days away, narrowed my choices to this order

1 - Herro - Scorer\shooter we need
2 - Bol - Have the same feeling about him that i had Embiid, where if he falls to us, take him, and thank the injury for allowing an elite player to fall
3 - Cam - Best shooter in the draft, Reminds me of Huerter last year, tall SG with elite 3pt shooting skill
4 - NAW - Courtney Lee 2.0 I know that doesnt sound too great, but i loved Lee coming out and he looked very good as a rookie for us

Reason why I'm higher on KPj than NAW is because the Magic should not be in the mindset of trying to get safe players to help us compete now. We need to be taking risks on upside.

Not with the wiretap saying AD just joined the Lakers and OKC is aggressively in win now mode.

If we had money and were chasing a guy coming out of his rookie deal and looking to get paid then we'd have a chance. But right now we don't even have max space to make chase

Realistically give me porter. If reddish happened to be there, which seems very unlikely, he is a run to the podium pick at 16.

I don’t disagree with this, but reddish has motor concerns to disprove, I like his core traits, but motor is also a crucial core trait in the recipe that he must have to fufill his potential and it is not necessarily teachable if he truely lacks it.

That said, I like your instincts, I see some McGrady also, let’s go get him. I would do your suggested 16 and next years 1st definitely, if the plan is to resign vuch, if not it maybe to much. Good thought though.

Porter if we stay at 16.

Yes to Porter despite character concerns, he has primary creator potential and that alone is worth the risk. I’d prob even move up as necessary. I also like Skins thought of targeting Reddish. I am locked in on those two.
