you have no ideea about basketball dude.calderon just throw the ball to parker, kapono, bosh kapono etc and they are all very good shooters and that's how calderon pick up his assists while andre miller needs to dish the ball to willie green and reggie evans.andre miller is a much much better and complex pg than calderon will ever be.
I'm going to have to chalk this up to you speaking about a player you have watched very little. Calderon is one of the most creative passers in the NBA. Think Steve Nash in the way he can drive and kick (thowing some crazy angle passes). I have seen a ton of high degree of difficulty passes that very few NBA PG's can make.
There's no other PG in the league who shoots with higher %'s than Calderon. The guy leads NBA PG's in FG% (54%), FT% (92%) and Assist/Turnover rate. He's 3rd in PG's for 3 pt FG% (46%) behind only Nash and Daniel Gibson. That 3pt FG% is better than most NBA players from 2 pt range. His FG% is actually 13th best of ALL players in the NBA (at least 7 of those guys are C's).
I love how everyone thinks a guy is just an average player because he doesn't average 20+ PPG. Calderon is have a WAY better season than Kidd....not even close. Actually, Kidd is a joke with his FG% of 36%. I'm not going to argue his D is not great, but let's not kid ourselves, Miller and Arenas are both poor on D too.
People say he doesn't take over games...so what, he doesn't need to. He plays with a stud PF and his job is to be a distributer just like Nash. As a starter, Calderon averages almost as many assists as Nash but yet he has half the turnovers Nash does. I guess Nash is just an overrated PG too since he plays with all that talent around him?
