This year is Stauskas' first year getting around league average from 3, and basically everyone expected him to be shooting 40%+ right from the jump. Nik also shot 26% from 15ft to the 3pt line, just hasn't been the deadeye guy most thought he'd be. If Korkmaz can hit open spot-ups, drill 3 as the defense closes out, and drive effectively when they overplay, that's a player we could make good use of.
Nik seems like a guy that's taken a bit of time to adjust to each level of ball he's played. I remember watching an interview with him, but he seems confident in improving a little each year, and he certainly has. Once we have a superior squad on the floor with him this coming year I have to imagine he will be shooting even more efficiently. That's why some people that are all-aboard JJ Redick in the clippers thread is a bit odd to me. I feel like Nik is exactly that and a much younger piece we can still build with. I'd rather get a different vet with some defensive skills on ball at the guard position.
Unfortunately, I think Stauskas has a fatal flaw in that he has emotional problems.
He has improved over the last two years, but conversely I think he has also shown that he really DOES have emotional problems that aren't likely to go away.
By the time he fixes his confidence and nervous problems he is likely to be too old to play basketball.
Therefore he has a tenuous grasp on an nba career.

I agree with you guys after reading my post. I shouldn't have said exactly Redick, that wasn't intended. He certainly isn't right now. He has the potential to be similar and a lot will have to align. I'd like to see Nik for a year with a good NBA team. Redick's production increased once he started playing with a number of other stars in the same lineup.
I like Nik too much as a person maybe. Just seems like a very likable and genuine guy. So for that my take on his projection is unrealistically and unfairly high.
