Really, this is the most logical solution to the issues here, and the one that costs us nothing. Talk to Horford and sell him on the idea of being the 6th man - he would still get his minutes, but would be on the floor with a surrounding cast that compliments what he does well. And the cherry on top is we still have the big lineup available for those matchups where it will be effective, like the Bucks and Raptors.
As you say, it won't happen because of what he's being paid, and because it will expose the idiocy of the 'bully ball' concept in today's NBA.
Even now he doesnt play with Embiid much.
It would help the end of the game unit though.
Still it is not easy to convince him to play strictly as Embiid back up. It would mean that in the playoffs he would play 10 min per game. He doesnt want that and the team doesnt want to pay close to 30 mil for that.
