Let Ben sit(without pay) and we let Maxey and Thybulle play a lot so we can see what we have with these players. I know we will waste one year of Embiid´s prime, but we already signed him, so he´s locked for the long run.
We get a good pick and wait for a good package for Ben, and next year we get back at full force. Better than trade Ben for scraps.
Letting Ben sit for a year without pay would be a very bad look to the rest of the league and potential free agents in the future, probably not the best road to take. I also don't know why you'd want to waste a year of Embiid's prime when you are this close to championship contention. When you have an mvp candidate like Embiid and a solid roster around him there's always a chance for a championship. Dame and CJ surrounded by a bunch of bums made it to the western conference finals in 2019-2020. I feel you guys are close.
You don't even need a home run trade like Beal or Dame either, both of whom already stated they don't want to trade. I would target a small market team like the Pacers. Imo a trade like Brogdan and Caris Levert + fillers makes you a much better team. Lots of firepower and spacing to maximize Embiid's skill set. A much more complete team imo, enough to beat the Bucks. A fully healthy Nets team, probably not no one is but anything can happen as we've seen this playoffs so you have to go for it.
