Now we got this article from Shams.
Yeah Simmons is 100% gone this summer.
Let's hope Morey doesnt get fleeced. We need SGA, Beal, Lavine, Lillard, or Fox back for him. Anything less and Morey is overrated.

Uh, common sense? 76ers wouldn't release all this info publicly just to keep him. Could you imagine Ben being on the team next year with what just happened & then all the trade hoopla which will go on the next few weeks. It would be dysfunctional. Of course Morey is going to say he wants him back blah blah blah, but if you had a gun to my head I'd say there is less than a 10% chance he is.

There is no way he is coming back after the Rich Paul unofficial trade request article came from Woj.
You dont put your 24 year old all star publicly on the trade block to sell to the highest bidder and have any scenario where they are on the team the following season.
It would be a total disaster starting on media day.

Lillard would immediately demand another trade if he got sent to New Orleans. Beal just wouldn’t re-sign there. I don’t know why it is, I’m guessing it has to do with the FO, but players want no part of The Big Easy.
Also there are rumors Ingram and Zion don’t like playing together. That being said, in any kind of deal Simmons wouldn’t be going to NOP, he would be routed to a third team, probably for picks.
Simmons can average 25/8/8 on any bad team and contribute to more regular seasons wins than Ingram.
So I’m leery on stats on any player on bad teams. Pelicans are improving. Ingram has shown improvement since coming over from the lakers. Even Julius Randle showed big time improvement once he left the lakers.
But in playoffs when teams focus on players weakness. How effective can Ingram be? We won’t know till they make the playoffs.
Stats on a bad team is what they said about Devin Booker, too. Until Phoenix wasn’t bad anymore.
Ingram, and for that example Zach LaVine as well, are the kinds of guys you take the chance on IMO. Of course, trying to figure out exactly what NOP would want for him is the hard part for us as fans. Ostensibly Morey would know and be looking to acquire those necessary pieces if he wanted Ingram.
I would love this. I feel like it might be a stretch to get LaVine for Simmons at this point. And also, I feel like Lonzo will be getting $20M - $25M, not $16.5M.yuuby wrote:My new favorite trade is Simmons ($33 million) to CHI for Lavine ($20 million) and we get Lonzo in a sign and trade since the Pelicans dont want to pay him and hes is pretty similar to Simmons stylewise.
Lonzo loves running in transition, is probably a better passer, both cant run pnr but Simmons is better inside but Lonzo is better at shooting 3s and takes a lot of 3s. Lonzo is also a good defender. We can probably get him for the 28th pick and paying him 20 mil per year or less.
Does Lonzo give you 85% of the production that Simmons gives you on 50% of the salary?
