Boykins has the same issue Denzel Livingston had. Which is he might just be too light/weak to make it to the big time.

Drafting De'aaron Fox at #3 can also be a contingency plan for if Embiid physically breaks down and/or Ben Simmons gets exposed for not being able to score.

Why? I don't get this thinking. If you draft right there is no mistake. Would you rather we didn't draft at 3 and drafted at 5 instead?

I know it's high school. But Jackson looks comfortable with that jumper as a scoring weapon. Wouldn't be surprised if his shot is better than we think.

Josh Jackson get's his layup attempt blocked again! 0:43 he gets his layup blocked in high school. We've seen Oregon's Jordan Bell do it twice, and I've witnessed some guy from Texas Tech do it and get called for goaltending, but this seals the deal. It hasn't gone unnoticed that he never operates out of the triple threat position. Josh Jackson has major flaws to his game for a #3 overall wing. He has this way of scoring that requires certain plays to be called where he never catches the ball on the wing with his feet set with any expectations of driving to the basket. He must receive the ball with his feet already moving. The Sixers have that in their system, but I think that a #3 overall wing should be able to operate out of the triple threat position and be an actual triple threat. His post up game does nothing but inflate his college stats, whose going to give him the ball on the block in the NBA to use that one move he has down there?

fox can't shoot, and he's a tooth pick. if his greatest asset is speed and attacking the basket, he's gonna need a couple of years to bulk up.

You said picking at 3 is a mistake though. Why?

The risk is that he turns into the next Tony Wroten, but I think he is a better scorer and defender, and he will probably be really good in time.
I could be convinced to take him 4th.

That's not a realistic risk, he's already better than Wrotten ever was. He doesn't miss layups and have a horrendous assist to turnover ratio like Wrotten.

Not to go all armchair phychologist but Fox just seems like a great kid, there is this confident and hard working vibe from him when he speaks...or as the kids like (liked....god I am so out of the loop)to say he has swag.

He has heart for sure. I like him a lot. I just like him less than Jackson.
Jackson and Fox are both good defenders, but Jackson is more versatile. Plus Jackson can play more without the ball. So I like the fit with Fox less, but I also think that Jackson is just more talented.

Fox could be a stud. Kids a blur and is going to be a problem to defend in transition or with a head of steam off the PNR.
He got better as the season progressed and really raised his game to another level in the tournament when the team needed him.

Everything that Fox does translates to the NBA. Jackson scored a ton of points on the low post as a college PF/C against players that will never get one single minute in the D League. Fox can be seen totally dominating Lonzo Ball and laying the ball up in the face of Josh Jackson twice. That's that Allen Iverson/Kobe Bryant/Wade killer instinct and competitive juice to attack the best NBA prospects.

I do think alot here underestimate Fox. He seems to be a hard worker, and I would rather have that long term cause great players improve their games with time.....and step up in big moments. He made Ball look like a D-league player out there.
There are actually several guys I like for us with this deep draft.

Jackson, Fox, or Monk are my guys personally. Any one of those three and I will be extremely happy.

Not saying Fox will be a bust but putting too much stock in a couple of games and buy into narratives is generally a mistake... watching kyrie kill the Celtics tonight I am reminded of how people didn't think he would succeed in the NBA because they thought he was milking his injury because he was afraid to play in college and expose himself.
