We'll have to see what that looks like. Maybe if we really don't believe in his long-term availability then you let him showcase himself and trade him at next year's deadline (heartbreaking AF).

The key to any major trade will be keeping our pick. If it lands 1-3, you keep Flagg or Rutgers bro. If it lands 4-6, I'm not opposed to trading it for a star that aligns with *Maxey's* timeline (i.e. LaMelo, Zion, Ja). I don't think Edgecombe or Kasparas have franchise-level player upside.

I'm not sure how many teams will be interested in George now that GSW is off the table. You might be able to attach his salary to the pick to get one of the aforementioned young stars.

Pick + George for Lamelo/Williams

LaMelo/McCain/Butler
Maxey/Grimes/Walker
(MLE)/Edwards/Council
Williams/Yabusele
Embiid/Drummond/Bona

Pick + George for Zion/Jones

Maxey/McCain/Butler
Grimes/Edwards/Walker
Jones/(MLE)/Council
Zion/Yabusele
Embiid/Drummond/Bona

I love the LaMelo trade but hate any idea of trading for Zion as long as Embiid is on the roster. Well beyond fantasy would be doing both of those trades, CHA with George and NO with Embiid, and replacing the pick in one of them with McCain.

LaMelo/Butler
Maxey/Grimes/Walker
Jones/Edwards/Council
Zion/Yabusele
Williams/(MLE)/Bona

Not sure how it would work, but it would be insanely entertaining.

Countering your fantasy scenario with an even more fantasy scenario...lol.

1. Win top-3 pick and draft Flagg or Bailey
2. Trade George/McCain/future 1st for Lamelo/G. Williams

LaMelo/Butler
Maxey/Grimes
Flagg/Edwards
G. Williams/Yabusele
Embiid/Drummond

I'm out on acquiring a star via trade, but why down on Lamelo?

Elite scoring, elite positional rebounding, elite passing, great defensive numbers

The only knock on him IMO is availability.

Inefficient chucker who has been the face of a terminally ill franchise with the backdrop being the weird Ball family dynamic and him foregoing college to play in Australia for a season. He’s a talented player but gives me the big time ick.

Speaking of Lamelo...

The availability of Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is one of the stars several executives who spoke with HoopsHype will be monitoring on the trade market this summer.

Wonder if Charlotte would entertain a package of Embiid and McCain for LaMelo and Williams?

If Charlotte is at 1 and the Sixers are at 3 it could really work out for both sides IMO.

Of course, we don't know if the Sixers are going to file a medical retirement for Embiid yet. I assume they're going to try and bring him back next year, but Joel always wants the info about him from the team kept to a minimum, so the Sixers are always forced to be cryptic.

It’s because they have better TV announcers. If you replaced them with Kate Scott, it would sound as unimpressive as a Jared Butler-to-Andre Drummond lob.

What, if anything, would you add to Paul George to acquire Kevin Durant?

Remember, they are in the 2nd apron, so they can't aggregate players or take on more salary than Durant's contract.

Joel is cooked. Adding Durant serves no point.

Fair fair. Thought it would be an interesting thought experiment.

Feels like the best route to go is build with Maxey. Hopefully we get lucky with our pick then try to trade PG and maybe even Joel if the price is right.

I would definitely target Charlotte for a trade this summer. Terrible organization + new owners is the recipe for a fleecing.

Whatever big moves we make need to revolve around Maxey. Not in the sense that he's a #1 on a championship team, but you have to hold onto a young All-Star who wants to be here and is loved by the FO, teammates, and fans. AKA, he's someone you build a strong/winning culture with, even if he's not Steph Curry. Can't take guys like that for granted, and the last thing we should want is him asking out.

This is probably the lowest value Lamelo will ever have. Hope we pounce with either the pick (not top-2)/George, Embiid, or McCain/George/future 1st.

To me, everyone should be available for the right price. Everyone. If we can build an OKC type of asset base by moving everyone of value on the roster I'm honestly ready to start from scratch.

But we had better damn well have the right people in place to build this thing again.

Not opposed to this approach either. This would probably be done by a new GM and coach.
