2025 Fantasy Trade Thread

Trading Embiid this summer at his absolute lowest value seems like bad business. Maybe if we get a fair-value offer, i.e. young star + pick(s), then you pull the trigger. We'll have to see what that looks like. Maybe if we really don't believe in his long-term availability then you let him showcase himself and trade him at next year's deadline (heartbreaking AF).

The key to any major trade will be keeping our pick. If it lands 1-3, you keep Flagg or Rutgers bro. If it lands 4-6, I'm not opposed to trading it for a star that aligns with *Maxey's* timeline (i.e. LaMelo, Zion, Ja). I don't think Edgecombe or Kasparas have franchise-level player upside.

I'm not sure how many teams will be interested in George now that GSW is off the table. You might be able to attach his salary to the pick to get one of the aforementioned young stars.

I love the LaMelo trade but hate any idea of trading for Zion as long as Embiid is on the roster. Well beyond fantasy would be doing both of those trades, CHA with George and NO with Embiid, and replacing the pick in one of them with McCain.

I'm out on acquiring a star via trade, but why down on Lamelo?

Elite scoring, elite positional rebounding, elite passing, great defensive numbers

The only knock on him IMO is availability.

Wonder if Charlotte would entertain a package of Embiid and McCain for LaMelo and Williams?

If Charlotte is at 1 and the Sixers are at 3 it could really work out for both sides IMO.

Of course, we don't know if the Sixers are going to file a medical retirement for Embiid yet. I assume they're going to try and bring him back next year, but Joel always wants the info about him from the team kept to a minimum, so the Sixers are always forced to be cryptic.

Whatever big moves we make need to revolve around Maxey. Not in the sense that he's a #1 on a championship team, but you have to hold onto a young All-Star who wants to be here and is loved by the FO, teammates, and fans. AKA, he's someone you build a strong/winning culture with, even if he's not Steph Curry. Can't take guys like that for granted, and the last thing we should want is him asking out.
