It should lock us into the 2/3 bracket with a easy round 1 matchup and also where the Bucks are a paper tiger with the Middleton cloud hanging over them, elevate Miami to the 4/5 where they should beat the Cavs and have a legit chance to eliminate Boston in round 2.
It really helps open the bracket up for us. Are we good enough to take advantage?![]()
The answer, that we all should already know, is no. Cannot keep going on in delusion. This is Morey’s problem. The math says x, but y keeps occurring.
I am obviously an analytics guy but you're 100% right. I love Embiid but running the offense through him in the playoffs in the 4th quarter never ends well. He's too tired, which leads to turnovers, and him playing worse defense. In theory, Harden should be the guy who takes over in the 4th but he's shown time and time again to shrink in big moments. He can still be part of a championship team but we need another guy who we can run the offense through in the 4th. Someone like Jimmy Butler.
Sixers are not going to the finals let alone winning the title with the current group. It's just not going to happen, and we have 1-2 seasons left of Embiid's prime. I don't understand Morey trading for Harden and then sitting on his hands to fill out the roster. I understand we have limited draft assets but I think they need to use Maxey to find a better win now player over the next two seasons. Otherwise, we are just going to be a treadmill 2nd round elimination team.
