Sure, but how much trade value does Kemba really have right now? And there are serious questions about his ability to be effective in the playoffs.

Not much but prob more than Tobias for example. Celtics are likely stuck w/him as he diminishes.

Were the Pelicans low-key hoping to sign and trade Brandon Ingram?

I thought the Heat must wait next year to extend Bam to have a chance at signing Giannis? What happens at their cap space next year with this Bam extension?

With how much Zion has underperformed defensively since entering the league, that team is going nowhere fast if Zion/Brandon are your building blocks.

If Duke Zion shows up, maybe they'll get things going. I still think Ingram might be a big numbers mediocre team guy. No defense from him.

How do you manage to flip flop your opinions so much but have so much conviction? Clearly you’re knowledgeable about the game but a year or year.5 ago you flipped from Ingram sucks to Ingram is one of the best young scoring pieces who is the closest thing to mini-KD and should be traded for Simmons to now a complete 180 on this position again. You had a similar opinion reversal multiple times on your view of defense.

He should be contending for all-defensive 1st teams. Possible even DPotY. He was that phenomenal at Duke.

But your sentence make it feel like Zion has been in the league for more than 3 years. The kid has only played 24 games.

Was Kemba that bad? I dont know why Celts are trying to trade him.

Tatum is not THAT good for him to carry a team without Kemba.

I can see Morey being stubborn to not trade Ben for Harden.

Then I can see the Celtics offering Jaylen Brown (possibly Kemba or what assets they can get for Kemba) and picks for Harden.

Celts then build around Tatum and Harden.

I don't know any more than anyone else, but I've been hearing on podcasts that there's worry about his body holding up, plus the playoff stuff. I think he's really really good, personally, but if you can't make a huge difference in the playoffs, what's the point, I guess.

Yeah, he's just a Tobias then. Can provide big numbers when it doesn't matter. When it does in the playoffs, nada.

Sadly i think Morey should have traded Simmons for HArden now. BEn will not became an average shooter, and his value will never be so high as it was now.

I think Ben’s value can be higher with how the roster is constructed while Harden’s value will decline as he nears the end of his contract. After this season, Harden can basically dictate where he want to play with his expiring contract (see Kawhi situation).

Giannis is getting kinda annoying. He needs to stop blaming his supporting cast and realize he’s the one that needs to step up in the POs.

Agreed, if he stays healthy. One of my biggest fears with Kemba is the same one I have with any smaller guard whose game is quickness dependent. Once they start losing a step they fall off that cliff precipitously. See Iverson, Allen and many others. A guy like Harden already plays an old man's man, which I mean in the best of ways, and he can keep some semblance of his godhood going for quite some time barring a major injury. Kemba is built a little more strongly than AI, but for small guards to last into their deep thirties, I prefer guys that are solidly built like Chris Paul or Dame. Kemba is between those physical archetypes and even CP3 has seen his play suffer in years with injuries slowing him down, and his game has a little old man style in it too, which helps.

So Kemba >> Tobias when healthy, but a step away from that not being true. I love Kemba and can't even root against him as a Celtic, but it is always a worry with smaller, quicker scoring guards.

The Giannis path to Miami or Dallas seems to be an inevitability. He is becoming quite whiny and isn't likely to head off to LA or NY/Brooklyn, but with he and Bam sharing an agent and Bam suddenly getting paid in a way that would seem on the surface to make it harder for Miami to secure him, underneath all of that it seems something more to appease Bam's bestie in Giannis and to further smooth the way for an eventual sign and trade next off season. Bucks better hope they win this year.

The East really took a step back this offseason. The #2 seed is definitely within reach.

We have to see how Jo and Ben come back. If their games still show no improvement, the 2nd seed is far out of reach for this team.

Jo and Ben were fine last year. The problem was the trash around them that stifled their game and the whole team. That problem is fixed now I predict.

Not to say you are wrong. But it's funny how that trash showed up at home and yet on the road they were worse than trash. Just a very confounding season.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)
