You can't be serious. The fact that he has four years remaining on a max contract is just pushed aside because his feelings are hurt? It isn't a matter of him 'getting on his knees', it's understanding the obligation and responsibility that signing a contract entails, and that means to get your ass to Philly and meet with people to work this thing out.
Even viewed from a selfish standpoint, if you want to be traded, how on earth is not reporting or speaking to anyone in the organization going to possibly help your cause? Maybe by reporting and taking the high road the organization works harder to get you to a more desired location.
There is no angle of looking at this where it is a positive for Simmons to take the bizarre, ridiculous stance he is taking. What he is succeeding in doing is making himself a pariah, not only to the Sixers and their fan base, but to any fan base around the league. If I'm a Minnesota, Cleveland, or Sacramento fan I'm thinking "no way in hell do I want this ingrate on my team, ever". What guarantee do they have that the exact same thing won't happen to them a year or two down the road?
