Bellinelli and Brewer are the right type of players, but they are not starting quality NBA players -It would be like me starting James Jones at SF (or my current options at PG.) But that is a fair trade-off given everyone has weaknesses.
I guess if you are going to have a weakness, its best to have it at the wing spots. But it would be better to have 2 defensive minded wings than Bellineli, who cannot defend his position. If you can flip Anderson for a quality defender who can shoot (say Thabo or Tony Allen) then you would be set. But I'm not sure you will be able to get value for Anderson.
My other concern would be how your team ages. Next Fall:
Wall: 21
LMA: 26
Kaman: 29
And you don't have young guys in the wings who might develop to fill in as Kaman ages, and he does not strike me as a big who will age well. Your complementary bigs (Anderson and Mcroberts) are young, but I see them as career bench guys- especially since they are not the physical defender you need to pair with LMA.
So the question is when do you peak? If Wall is not an All-Star for 2 more years, then you have a 3-4 years window of Wall/LMA in their prime... but I think Kaman or the rest of your roster gives you much support at that point. But If Wall explodes next year then you definitely would have a few year window to be elite, and then likely still be good for a 5 year window.
So one one hand you have two stars at crucial positions book-ending a potent offense. But on the other hand the roster as a whole has some fit/balance and growth issues. But then again every one of our teams has clear strengths and weaknesses. My team lacks an quality PG and truly stud level talent, but has a better fit and a more cohesive plan for competing over the next 5 years. While your team has a better ceiling, but is much rough around the edges.
TK I pretty much agree with everything you are saying...However I do believe I have a capable defender who performed well with Minnesotta in one year...Brewer was a 13 ppg player with them, before his minutes started dwindling...He can definitely be a glue guy for my team...He'll benefit from Wall's penetration and passing skills and become a better player..My window for elite is probably 2-3 years untill Kaman starts declining...If i had a better Center, it could be extended...
Those are my two areas of need...A legitimate starting quality SG or a better defending C, who can also score a bit. IMO Gortat would be ideal here...
Thank you for the kind words though...
P.S. Anyway I can snag Rudy Gay for say, Anderson, McRoberts and Belinelli or Barea?
Please don't be insulted lol...really just fishing haha
