If Kobble doesn't take that deal..... would u do Horford and Johnson for Gordon and davis......

Ellesy,

I'd do a Horford for Eric Gordon, straight up. I can't deal davis because he's my one and only back-up PF.

i need davis to do the deal....... i'll only have jerakbo at the Pf spot........

i can do Horford, Johnson and D.j. White or josh powell for Davis and gordon..........

Congrats on your trade. Your team is 60% fantastic. Wall, LMA, Kaman should work well together and provide you with a potent core.

Bellinelli and Brewer are the right type of players, but they are not starting quality NBA players -It would be like me starting James Jones at SF (or my current options at PG.) But that is a fair trade-off given everyone has weaknesses.

I guess if you are going to have a weakness, its best to have it at the wing spots. But it would be better to have 2 defensive minded wings than Bellineli, who cannot defend his position. If you can flip Anderson for a quality defender who can shoot (say Thabo or Tony Allen) then you would be set. But I'm not sure you will be able to get value for Anderson.

My other concern would be how your team ages. Next Fall:

Wall: 21
LMA: 26
Kaman: 29

And you don't have young guys in the wings who might develop to fill in as Kaman ages, and he does not strike me as a big who will age well. Your complementary bigs (Anderson and Mcroberts) are young, but I see them as career bench guys- especially since they are not the physical defender you need to pair with LMA.

So the question is when do you peak? If Wall is not an All-Star for 2 more years, then you have a 3-4 years window of Wall/LMA in their prime... but I think Kaman or the rest of your roster gives you much support at that point. But If Wall explodes next year then you definitely would have a few year window to be elite, and then likely still be good for a 5 year window.

So one one hand you have two stars at crucial positions book-ending a potent offense. But on the other hand the roster as a whole has some fit/balance and growth issues. But then again every one of our teams has clear strengths and weaknesses. My team lacks an quality PG and truly stud level talent, but has a better fit and a more cohesive plan for competing over the next 5 years. While your team has a better ceiling, but is much rough around the edges.

TK I pretty much agree with everything you are saying...However I do believe I have a capable defender who performed well with Minnesotta in one year...Brewer was a 13 ppg player with them, before his minutes started dwindling...He can definitely be a glue guy for my team...He'll benefit from Wall's penetration and passing skills and become a better player..My window for elite is probably 2-3 years untill Kaman starts declining...If i had a better Center, it could be extended...

Those are my two areas of need...A legitimate starting quality SG or a better defending C, who can also score a bit. IMO Gortat would be ideal here...

Thank you for the kind words though...

P.S. Anyway I can snag Rudy Gay for say, Anderson, McRoberts and Belinelli or Barea?

Please don't be insulted lol...really just fishing haha

Thanks Phifans...

Guess that's a no on the Marcus Thornton offer btw?

I do believe Kobblehead got a great deal though...He got an SG who has true All-star potential...Someone who is a great passer and can stretch the defense...No slouch on D either...

Plus he got the uber savy Grant Hill who is still going strong despite his age, and had his best season since his return. Hill is still one of the smartest players out there, and now can hit the 3 and has elite level defense...

Not interested in both jerebko and james johnson. How about Glen Davis and Gordon for Delfino, Dj white and horford.

You don't need delfino with Gordon now at the starting position and DJ white who is basically worth nothing.

Phifans...

J.J. Barea and Ryan Anderson

for

Marcus Thornton

Why?

You get a wonderful P.G. off the bench who can reek havoc on the defense as well as a stretch four that opens up your offense...

If you don't want Ryan Anderson, I can include Marco Belinelli

I can give you

Gortat and Batum for Kaman and Josh McRoberts

or even

Gortat and Batum for Kaman, Ryan Anderson and Corey Brewer/Belinelli

Finally..

Nice dealing with you. I'm sure you are thrilled to have both players. Eric Gordon is one of the top 5-8 SGs in this league. What makes him extra special is that he's only 22 years old. Glen Davis, on the other hand is an underrated PF. He can give you 12ppg 6rpg. He'd be a good supporting cast to build around KD.

Such a busy two days for my team.

I made some major changes with the core of my team. Initially, I'm very pleased to have both K-Love and Eric Gordon. I believe both guys are future all-stars in this league. They gave me a very balanced inside-outside scoring punch and solidifies my team's play-off run.

But Deron Williams and Al Horford are too good to pass up. Both are first round talents and are legit all-star players for now and in the next five years. I think Horford can be very effective at the PF position , specially playing alongside Deron Williams who is one of the best PnR PGs in the league. Nick Young's deficiency in rebounding and assists is going to benefit playing alongside Marion (good rebounder) and Deron Williams (top in assists). And reciprocally, Nick Young's scoring ability should compliment both Deron and Marion. Defensively, I think I'm OK with the Marion/Horford/Okafor frontline to anchor my team's defense (combined 3.4bpg and 26rpg).

Overall, I think it's the same team that have a talented young core (Young, Horford, Deron, and Okafor). They still compliment each other well. But I think with the addition of a borderline superstar like Deron Williams, I think I will have a better chance of competing that my roster 1.0.

What do you guys think? I'm accepting criticisms so that I will know where to improve. Thanks!

I think you've done an excellent job ! D-Williams - Al Horford should be much better being the core of a team wants to be a contender right now!
