Whats funny is your reaction at the Lakers fans being happy about Ingram. If you are so secure in Simmons being legit, you woudlnt care about what Lakers fans think about Ingram. Its like Sixers fans telling Lakers fans how they should feel about dAngelo Russell saying Russell sucks so they should fix their mistake and trade DAngelo to the Sixers for Okafor lol.

It doesn't matter - really - but a poll prior to the lottery would have been more telling.

EDIT: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1435917#start_here (Simmons 49%, Ingram 47%, other 4%) compared to viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1445635&start=980 (Simmons 26%, Ingram 58%, other 16%)

I'd say that's correct. Pre draft lottery about 50/50, and of the 49% that were Simmons probably 25% have mostly been reading stuff on Ingram and falling in love with him knowing it was more than likely our pick. The overreaction from our peeps based on the assertion that we convinced ourselves he was the best player, though, is understandable considering almost 50% of us did really feel that was our guy and even more so when you consider that we need a 3 like nobodies business and we need shooters like crazy, too.

Hopefully what happens this year, though, is that both players thrive and this year is a promising one for both Franchises. Small market love be damned, the league is better when Philly, NY, LA, Boston, and Chicago are competitive.

Yeah I need you guys to be better than you were last year so we can get that pick. Hopefully you guys can at least get the 6th worst record but I doubt it. I think you guys could have the worst record if you don't get a good free agent. I'm hoping you can get someone like Whiteside. He should make you competitive but still miss the playoffs. Simmons and Ingram square off in Las Vegas on July 9th. Can't wait.

Not really. When we were debating Dlo, Okafor, Porz, etc., it's not like we were saying they were better than Towns.

Not necessarily everyone.....but look at my sig. Some people were talking down Towns like he was Henry god damn Sims

Fair enough but it was unusual enough to be sigworthy.

I was one of the few talking down Towns. I was a bit salty though, so my opinion was a little jaded.

I'm excited for you guys. Simmons is a great choice and should be a great player for your team for many years!

As a Lakers fan I'm super happy we're in position to land a player like Brandon Ingram. I think he's going to take a little longer to be NBA ready than Ben Simmons but I do think he'll develop into a special player also.

Congrats to both of us! Let the good times roll!!
Sometimes being wrong is awesome!!! :D

Worst? With Durant, Lebron, Horford, and Conley on our team? You clearly haven't keeping up with our board and Stephen A Nostradamus :reporter:

FWIW, that post draft poll is "who will the lakers pick?" I agree with them that they will take Ingram. :D

Simmons' Nike deal worth $20m supposedly, at least that's what Fallon said and Simmons acknowledged it.

Guys, no showboating until our guys have already played and look promising. I'll troll with you guys. Just give me the link of the thread by then.

Lol. That sig was written by a kid who's every post is similar quality. I don't think he can be used as a reference that people were down on towns. That was probably just a kid simply enamoured with Okafor's offense.

I don't get the point of this going back and forth with Lakers' fans, except for the humorous/non-troll stuff which is cool. If we were picking second we would be bragging on Ingram as being the perfect fit for us, being a year younger with more projection via age and his shooting skillset. Yes, Simmons is the top prospect in the draft, but anyone getting a top two pick this year has a right to be happy. Let's have some class people, and act like a board that is getting ready for its team to start truly building a contender.

Besides, trolling the Celtics is way more fun (unless Ainge makes BC look like a fool, in which case, they will have fun trolling us).

The Lakers should be ecstatic to get Ingram, as we would be ecstatic to get him if we had the second pick. The disingenuous part is when the Lakers fans overwhelmingly say that they prefer Ingram. I think that they are trying to convince themselves that they would have taken Ingram first over all anyway, but I don't think that that is actually true.

The two players are on different levels.

I don't see the purpose in trolling anyone though.

good read! He's 6'10" and have a skillset of a great to elite wing playmaker. Truly a unique player.

Only thing in question for me is what's the ceiling of his shooting and defense.
