I don't see it....maybe he has some type of breakout year down the line on a terrible team, but I've seen very little to get excited about.

meh. Pick 26... so not really a franchise breaking pick. In fact almost that entire draft was pure trash. Apart from Brogdon at pick 36 there is nobody outside the top 10 worth selecting.

The draft is largely a crap shoot at that point. Yes, good drafters find good players there, and there were some really good players drafted after him that year, but it is still a numbers game.
It’s not like Korkmaz is done. He just isn’t ready, and he is on a team now that needs him to be ready if he is going to get minutes.
I think that if he had stayed over in Europe last year, and maybe even this year, that he would be someone that we were excited about and would be more equipped to contribute to the team.
He is physically immature still.

I understand hes young and 21 years old.....but what exactly has he "flashed" that makes you optimistic that he simply isn't ready?
He struggles to make shots (which is supposed to be his strongest attribute as an NBA player)
He struggles to defend (not just a strength thing)
He struggles to score. He's not quick, explosive or athletic.
Im not trying to beat the kid up, but from what I've seen of him in the NBA,G-League,Summer League.....he doesn't scream NBA player to me. Dude was supposed to be the Turkish Klay Thompson/Kevin Martin yet he can't shoot above 30%.

Whenever I've seen him play in international the kid has killed it often leading Turkey in scoring. 2 minutes here and 5 minutes there every 3 games seems like an unlikely method of forming an opinion on anyone.

He sucked in the G-league getting heavy minutes.

The only way I could accept other people thinking he stunk was on the basis of him being a catch-and-shoot player. His jumper is way too streaky for that. He's an on-ball player.

On the other hand, I wonder if this trade opens up the opportunity for Korkmaz to get some playing time. For certain there will be some minutes in the immediate future until Butler reports, but there may be some minutes at SF open too. And for sure Philly needs more 3 point point shooting.
